This 50-pack of 11 x 14" Acid-Free Card Stock from Archival Methods is designed to have many uses. The card stock can act as a support, and prevent photographs or documents from bending inside of archival pages or sleeves. Photographs or documents can be mounted onto the stock and used as an album page. The stock can be used as a backing for a photograph inside of a frame. Instead of marking a matted print, you can write on the card stock, for information or easy identification of a print.

The white card stock is made out of alpha-cellulose pulp from purified wood fiber. No dyes, non-bleeding, and no alum were used in the manufacturing process. A lignin- and acid-free stock, it is pH-balanced at 9. Alkaline sizing was used internally and externally on the card stock, which has passed the Photographic Activity Test (PAT), confirming it is suitable for long-term storage. The weight of the card stock is 290 gsm.

Related Questions and Answers

Q: 1. can this paper be printed on with inkjet?

A: That is not the normal use of this paper therefore we can only offer the opinion that since it can be written on, we believe you can use it in an inkjet printer.

Q: 2. Do these frames come with a mat?

A: No. On their product page, they recommend you purchase their Mat and Presentation Kit (ie. BH# AR111481079).

Q: 3. What weight paper are these envelopes made from? opacity?

A: The Archival Methods Flap Envelope - 9 x 12", 50 Pack (Cream) is a 7pt thick card stock page. They do not specify the opacity.

Q: 4. Is this cardstock printable on both sides?

A: Unfortunately, the Archival Methods Acid-Free Card Stock (11 x 14", 50-Pack, White) is not made to be printed on. It can be used to mount documents and photos. Also to be a backing for a photograph when it is inside a frame.

Q: 5. How many mats(front and back) come in an order and are the mats reusable?

A: One by one. If you need front and back you should order 2. Well, if you don't care about very little stains or something then you might use it again but I don't suggest that way since it is not made to do so. Especially if it's for the exhibition, definitely not.

Q: 6. it says wt. is: 148 GSM Paper Weight. How many pounds is that (example 65# or 80# ?)

A: According to the manufacturer, the Archival Methods Acid-Free Card Stock (13 x 19", 50-Pack, White) listed above would be considered 196 lb paper, or 290 GSM paper weight.

Q: 7. Can windows be custom-sized?

A: Stating the obvious, these are precut windows but I suppose you could cut larger windows. Other than that, you could probably contact Archival Methods to see about custom frames.

Q: 8. Are these sleeves transparent or opaque?

A: They are transparent (high clarity).

Q: 9. I'm planning to mount my photos on the wall without frames as an inexpensive way to show my work yey allow me to swap things out easily. The previous foam board i used warped and some pieces had a wavy surface. How is the flatness and stability of this product?

A: These foamboards will maintain flatness and would be very stable for mounting images to your wall.

Q: 10. What is the max usable depth inside then?

A: The Archival Methods 70-014 Digital Print Folio (11 x 14") has a usable depth of 0.5".

AS described. A bit sturdier than paper to create dividers in archival storage boxes.

Purchased this to start printing and archiving photos to prevent photos from bending. Nothing special here and does the job.

I bought these to provide separation of categories, decades, etc. in archival photo boxes, that are deep enough to file 5x7 portraits and snapshots with or without sleeves.

I bought and use these to use as dividers in my archival ancestor binders. Particularly useful to separate family info and photographic portraits by family surname. Easily runs through my printer for adding necessary information for each section of the binders. So...I don't worry about these dividers affecting my 100+ years-old photos. And easily fits into my 3-hole punch.
