A: An 18X24 sheet of watercolor paper will slide in nicely as long as it is truly square. The only problem you might have is if the paper has been matted. An 18x24 mat and backing will only fit in a bag this size if it is very thin. I would purchase a larger sized bag if I was going to use it to protect matted work.

A: Hi -- It's me again. I've done the experiment. The Savage black muslin backdrop appears white in near infrared light, specifically 800-900nm. In other words, it reflects this light strongly rather than absorbing it. (It of course absorbs visible light which is why it looks black to us.) Anyway, my Savage black backdrop will not work for NIR photography if you expect an absorbing black background. I cannot say what it would look like at much longer wavelength, say beyond 2000nm.
