The Acid-Free Foamboard 10-pack from Archival Methods is used as a backing board for framing. Each board is 1/8" thick, making it suitable for many frame profiles. Because of the thinness of the board, a frame package less than 3/8" can be created. This archival grade board is acid and lignin-free and contains a 3% buffering agent to maintain an alkaline pH.

Related Questions and Answers

Q: 1. Will this fit boxes of 17x22 prints? The boxes themselves are nearly 18 x 23". Thank you

A: If your print paper dimensions are no more than 17.25 x 22.25 then yes.

Q: 2. Is 1.4" the thickness of the portfolio? The picture looks much thicker

A: The internal dimension is 1.4".

Q: 3. is this the same thickness as "oak-tag"? Is it thinner than 1/8" mat board?

A: Archival Methods Acid-Free Card Stock (24 x 36", 50-Pack, White) is 290gsm 14 point card stock (similar to a standard postcard). It is much thinner than the 1/8 inch mat board.

Q: 4. Does it work for both 35mm and 120 film?

A: Yes, the Archival Methods Negative File Folders (50-Pack, 3 x 6.25") will fit 35mm and 120mm films.

Q: 5. When looking at the frame on the wall, what is the thickness of the edges of the frame?

A: The sides of the Archival Methods Gallery 12 Wood Frame Kit would measure 1 inch.

Q: 6. Are these refill pages different from the pages in the Itoya Art Portfolio Multi-Ring Refillable Binder (8.5 x 11") BH #ITRB811 MFR #RB-8-11 binder? Do they fit in the Itoya binder?

A: The Start by Prat Archival Sheet Protectors (8.5 x 11", 10-Pack) are not the exact same items that come with the Itoya Art Portfolio Multi-Ring Refillable Binder (8.5 x 11"). However, these Sheet Protectors will fit in the Itoya Binder.

Q: 7. What inkjet print settings are most appropriate for this paper?

A: This paper is meant for interleaving over a print that is being stored.

Q: 8. Are these bags waterproof. If my wartime letter collection was in a flooded house, would this bag protect them from being damaged? A further recommendation: A margin of plastic with hole punches for a 3 ring binder would make this item much better. I'm looking for a zip locking style bag that's relatively waterproof with a side that's hole punched. Seems like every family historian could use such an item.

A: These bags are not waterproof.

Q: 9. Can these be used with 3/16 foamcore backing behind the art?

A: Unfortunately no, the Lineco Self-Sealing Photo / Art Bag (22 x 28", 25-Pack) is only for storing an unmounted print.

Q: 10. Are these pages acid free?

A: Yes, the Print File 810-2P Archival Storage Page for 2 Prints (8 x 10", 25-Pack) is acid free.
