A: The outside front pocket has one zipper. As Mindshift says. Front zippered pocket fits 6 liters of extra gear to extend your adventure. The inside lid has two zippers. A: The bottom compartment is bigger than it looks, it holds my Nikon D750 with my big 70-200 attached. I also love that it fits my 15inch Mac book in the back sleeve. Great backpack!

A: They are leather. Also, the zippers have the little leather tags on them. The zippers themselves are cheap metal and one broke. I am not tough on my bag either. I'll be super-gluing a piece of metal in it's place. Other than that, it's a really solid bag! I love it! Hope this helps!
