Klipsch's proprietary Tractrix geometry in the horn is specifically crafted to efficiently transfer the high frequencies of the tweeter to the listener. This second-generation Tractrix horn is larger for better directivity and a wider overall soundstage. The Tractrix horn can accomplish this level of audio fidelity and smooth frequency response by being combined with a phase plug and a compressed molded silicon face.

Part of Klipsch's Reference line, the LTS (Linear Travel Suspension) works to minimize distortion for more detailed audio reproduction.

The housing of the tweeter in this pair of bookshelf speakers clarifies the high-frequency signal by reducing standing waves that would otherwise create unwanted harmonics.

Another signature aspect of Klipsch's Reference Premiere speakers are the Cerametallic woofers. This bookshelf speaker is equipped with a single 6.5" woofer, and the Cerametallic construction keeps it lightweight, yet rigid, to both maximize acoustic efficiency and minimize distortion. The second-generation, voice coil is 70% larger in diameter to ensure flawless reproduction with better power handling, cone control, and linearity. The addition of aluminum shorting rings adds to the improved power handling and lower distortion, while the motor structure itself improves the transit response adds more control with increased speed and improved accuracy.

If you prefer a deeper bass from your speakers, the integrated ports of the RP-600M II utilize Klipsch's Tractrix geometry to produce clean and punchy low-end frequencies. The geometry allows the air to quickly and efficiently exit the speaker, which also reduces port noise. Customized inner flares further lowers noise by reducing air turbulence entering the port.

Dual input terminals on the back of each speaker allow you to bi-wire and bi-amp with additional (optional) cabling. Bi-wiring allows you to separate the high and low frequencies to each cable. By separating them, interference and distortion are minimized, delivering a clearer sound that has more accuracy in your listening environment. The bi-amping can generate more power for your speakers by using outboard crossovers with (optional) separate amplifiers.

The RP-600M II features audiophile-grade wiring and easily accessible aluminum binding posts for any connection type.

Klipsch uses internally braced furniture-grade MDF for a durable and attractive appearance. The walnut vinyl finish includes satin-painted baffles that have a scratch-resistant coating.

You have the option of exposing the copper-colored woofer and tweeter or covering them up with a discrete speaker grille. The grille magnetically attaches to the front of the RP-600M II.

Replacing typical rubber bumpers are cork pads, which work to protect the surfaces of a stand or table.

Related Questions and Answers

Q: 1. Description says Klipsch Promedia 2.1 is THX certified. However, one of the reviews indicated that it is no longer TXH certified. Is the product currently for sale really TXH certified? Does indicate this on the box

A: We obtain the Klipsch ProMedia 2.1 Speaker System directly from them. They are TXH certified.

Q: 2. Is this speaker powered or does it require an amplifier?

A: An amplifier or receiver is required o power this speaker.

Q: 3. Would these speakers work well with a good quality powered sub, say a 12 driver?

A: These are passive speakers and would require power from a receiver or amplifier. As long as said receiver or amplifier also supported a self powered subwoofer, then yes, these are great speakers for the price and would work well.

Q: 4. Is there a power switch? I cannot one anywhere. It seems the only way to power it down is to unplug it.

A: The Klipsch ProMedia 2.1 Speaker System does not have a power switch.

Q: 5. Can the Audioengine B2 be combined with other Audioengine speakers or other Bluetooth speakers to create a party type system?

A: No. This speaker cannot be connected in a party-chain fashion to other bluetooth speakers.

Q: 6. Will these speakers fit a Martin Logan speaker Motion 4i?

A: Your speakers don't exceed the weight restriction and aren't exceeding the largest 7x7" top plate, they will work great! They do not require the speakers to be screwed in. If you have any other questions or require additional information, if you could please email us directly at support@kantoliving.com and we would be happy to help.

Q: 7. Is anyone using these with non-Kanto speakers? Looking to use them for Polk bookshelf speakers.

A: While this can be used with other book shelf speakers, they are designed specifically for Kanto speakers.

Q: 8. Will this be compatible with major brand 4K TV Sets?

A: Most televisions output optical toslink. Only some of them have an 1/8'' headphone or aux output that would be directrly comaptible with the Klipsch ProMedia 2.1 Speaker System. If your television only has toslink optical, you can use a digital to analog converter like BH #FID03K for compatibility with the Klipsch ProMedia 2.1 speaker system.

Q: 9. Does this come with two sized top plates?

A: A 7-inch and 4-inch wide top plates are provided to accommodate different size speakers.

Q: 10. I'm trying to understand the difference between the first and second generation of the Klipsch RP-500SA. Searched the web and didn't see any useful information. Is there a significant difference?

A: The 2nd Gen RP comes with an updated tractrix horn and new woofers made of spun-copper thermoformed crystal polymer for the purpose of minimizing resonance. Here is a link to a Klipsch page with further details on this. https://www.klipsch.com/blog/next-generation-reference-speakers-whats-the-difference

I run all Klipsch for my 7.1.4 and the surround speakers simply weren't doing the job in context (the mains are Cornwall IV's for example). So I replaced the Klipsch RP 502 II's with the RP 600 II's and am enjoying a much better surround experience.

These speakers are sonic Heaven. The new improved tractrix horn has incredible definition. The bass response is world class. The woofer is tight and powerful rivaling many larger woofers. These speakers will stand up to many higher priced speakers costing hundreds of dollars more. Speaker cabinets are ridged and mass couple nicely. These speakers have an incredible presence and you can listen to them for hours with no fatigue. They are actually fun to listen to. Nice smooth bass response even at low volumes. Low frequency extension is so good you will not need a subwoofer.

These speakers are not only beautiful but sound amazing as well! They made such a difference that I upgraded my receiver and got the rest of the RP set for a 9.2 Dolby Atmos setup!

5 stars. These pair well with the RP 8000 speakers. I can hear them even with the 8000s thumping.

Marvelous speakers. Their small size belies the quality and presence of sound produced by these mini-marvels. Beyond their smooth frequency response, the soundstage is excellent and fills my 20'x18' room with great sounds.

My 69 year old ears really enjoy these speakers. The somewhat lifted high frequencies sound detailed to me. The mids are smooth and the bass has incredible detail. These speakers have lots of slam, texture & detail. Very precise imaging. They work well with the Klipsch SPL-100 10" subwoofers and Onkyo TX-NR6100 receiver. Love them!

I have been using these speakers for 3 weeks now and I have been as happy with them as I had hoped.

The build quality, weight, aesthetic, and look are what I love about Klipsche. (also, the terminals are higher quality, it's the little things)
