Related Questions and Answers

Q: 1. Hello, I’m looking to use this adapter with a GH5 and the Olympus 7-14mm pro lens. Will this adapter work between those 2?

A: The FotodioX Pro TLT ROKR Tilt-Shift Lens Mount Adapter for Olympus OM-Mount Lens to Micro Four Thirds Mount Camera connects Olympus OM 4/3 lenses designed for the old Olympus DSLR camera, to a Micro 4/3 camera, like your Panasonic Lumix GH5 II Mirrorless Camera. If you own a Olympus M.Zuiko Digital ED 7-14mm f/2.8 PRO Lens, this lens is designed with the micro 4/3 mount. You can connected directly to Panasonic Lumix GH5 Mirrorless Camera.

Q: 2. Will a Sigma lens with OM Mount work ?

A: If the lens mounts on OM bodies (OM 1-2-3-4 and 2 SP) the OM mount will work.As noted in the specs you loose auto focus. I have many original OM lenses anda 90MM non Olympus (Tamron?) with an OM mount. They work on my 620 and Micro fourthirds bodies. Great advantages are faster lenses and 2X magnification (f1.8 80mm becomesa 160mm.) There are online test reports for the various original OM lenses on digital bodieswith adaptors. If you shot in the old days, focusing is not a difficult skill. You can readexposure over/under on digital bodies and set it using internal meter.

Q: 3. I have recently inherited an original olympus pen f 35mm film camera with three lenses. The 35mm f1.8, telephoto zoom 100-200mm f5 and the 20mm f3.5. I have a lumix camera and was wondering if this is what i would need to adapt the lenses to a lumix?

A: Yes this is the correct adapter for your application.

Q: 4. I have many old Olympus lenses, would this make those lenses work on my OM-1 Mark ii?

A: The Vello Olympus OM Lens to Micro Four Thirds-Mount Camera Lens Adapter with Macro will work on the OM1 Mark II. It does accept Olympus lenses from the old OM film cameras. They are screw on lenses.

Q: 5. I have an Olympus DE M10 Markii and Konica Hexanon 50mm f1.7 lens. I asked about an adaptor at a local camera shop and they said some people can't get some adaptors off the camera. The only review here said tight fit. That's okay, but I want to be sure I can get it off. Also, does using Konica lens produce good portraits (seeing that it is now comparable to a 100mm lens on 4/3)? Thank you for assistance. I became aware of B & H through Robin Wong videos. Do I purchase through his link?

A: the fotodiox adapter is designed to properly mount your Hexanon lens to a micro four thirds camera. It's also designed to release the lens when you're done. As with any manufactured product, quality control is rarely 100%. There are no blanket guarantees. As to it being a suitable portrait lens for your camera, it certainly is, though you'll have no auto focus and metering options will be limited. If Robin Wong has a link to the B&H website and it benefits him if you use it, then please do so.

Q: 6. Does this adapter work with Olympus OMD E-M5 camera? The Photodiox site says yes but your website says no.

A: Yes, the FotodioX Pro Lens Mount Shift Adapter for Nikon F-Mount Lens to Select Micro Four Thirds-Mount Cameras, will work with the Olympus OMD E-M5 camera.

Q: 7. Does this auto focus?

A: No, that is a fully manual adapter. It has no electronic connections. And it seems there are no others that have Autofocus.

Q: 8. works with blackmagic pocket ?

A: Yes, the FotodioX Canon EF Pro Lens Adapter with Built-In Iris Control for Micro Four Thirds Cameras will work with a Black Magic Pocket Camera.

Q: 9. If a Leica lens is mounted on a Panasonic m4/3 camera with an adapter like this, will focus peaking work to assist focusing?

A: Yes, focus peaking will work (at least it does on my G85).

Q: 10. Will this adapter work with the Olypmus OMD E-M5? I have heard of some issues with other G-4/3 adapters being obstructed by the prism on the camera and thus unusable. Are there any known issues with this?

A: Yes, the FotodioX Contax G Pro Lens Adapter for Micro Four Thirds Cameras is compatible with the Olympus OM-D E-M5. There are no known issues regarding the adapter obstructing parts of the camera.

The adapter replaced one from another manufacturer that actually damaged my camera mount. I was skeptical about even trying another inexpensive adapter but as the difference between this one and the 'best' one was almost $100 I figured I'd try it. The FotodioX adapter worked great. I have used it with a number of vintage lenses and with no concerns at all and it has preformed perfectly. Don't hesitate to buy this adapter but be very skeptical of other cheaper ones.

I was hesitant at first getting my OM-D, because I had some high quality lenses already, but this did the trick. The depth-of-field conversion from stacking these lenses on is pretty cool, too. Just make sure you're aware of the effect.

Simple adapter that does the job. I mounted my old 75-205mm OM zoom lens on my new OM-D and it just works.

As expected, Micro Four Thirds to SLR adapters act as telephotos due to the extra focal distance the introduce. I'd guess this adapter is roughly equivalent to 1.5x, but it's hard to measure without my old OM-4.

You have to keep in mind that (a) no autofocus and (b) twice the effective focal length for 35mm FF lenses (your OM 50/1.4 becomes a 100/1.4). If that conversion and limitation works for you this is what you want. You still get auto-exposure using A (aperture preferred) mode, you just have to set the aperture manually on the lens and you may need to open up to focus, then close down to shoot. Fit and finish are fine, I see no reason to spend more. Works with both my Zuiko and 3rd party lenses

The adapter has a great fit and finish. This adapter gives me the ability to reuse my old OM1 lenses. I am looking forward to using this adapter with my telephoto at airshows.

This product adapts OM manual focus lenses to micro four thirds(m43) bodies. Must use an auto exposure setting as there are no electronics in/on adapter. The machining, fit, and finish of this product apear to be top notch. Fit to lens and camera are snug but not to tight, with no play on either side. I am using mine on an OM-D EM-5, and I am excited to say once the camera is configured for manual focusing it is very satisfying to use. The Olympus's 5-axis stabilization combined with the high resolution electronic view finder truly make using the fine old Olympus glass a pleasure. Seems to be at its best with normal to telephoto lenses. In short it's a must for me. I love it.

Works perfectly and is solidly built. You'll need to set your camera for the aperture or manual modes. I can now use my old Zuiko lenses from the 80's with my EM10 Mark III. I'm sure glad I kept them for all these years.

I bought another adapter from another company that wouldn't lock with the lens and was a total waste. This one is secure and solid. Thanks!
