Related Questions and Answers

Q: 1. What are the key difference with previous Canon EF 70-300mm f/4-5.6 L IS USM lens ?

A: The Canon 70-300mm IS II has a new optical design, which should enhance the optical quality of the lens. It should be sharper, especially towards the more telephoto range. It also has a better IS system, which should be able to compensate for up to 4-stops. Other differences would include the LCD for lens information such as distance and focal length, and a new focus motor to allow for fast smooth AF.

Q: 2. Does the lens barrel rotate during focus? Like the previous model, making use of CPL filter difficult or use of a petal lens hood non-functional.

A: The front element does not rotate during focus so you can use a CPL filter with no problem

Q: 3. Will this lens work on a Canon 60D?

A: This lens will be fully compatible on the Canon 60D.

Q: 4. will this lens work with the canon eos 7d mark ii camera?

A: Yes it will. It is compatible with both full frame and apsc sensor cameras.

Q: 5. Will it fit on the blackmagic 6k studio camera with Ef mount? It’s for live-streaming in our church about 50 feet distance

A: Yes, the Canon EF 70-300mm f/4-5.6 IS II USM Lens is compatible with the Blackmagic Design Pocket Cinema Camera 6K G2.

Q: 6. Dose this lens work with the Canon Eos Rebel T6i?

A: Yes

Q: 7. Is this lens compatible with Face Auto Focus with the C100 mkii?

A: Unfortunately the Canon 70-300 lens is not supported. The following EF Lenses are compatible with Face AF and Auto Push Iris: EF-S 10-18mm f/4.5-5.6 IS STM EF-S 18-135mm f/3.5-5.6 IS STM EF-S 18-55 f/3.5-5.6 IS STM EF-S 55-250mm f/4-5.6 IS STM EF 24-105 f/3.5-5.6 IS STM EF-S 18-135mm f/3.5-5.6 IS USM

Q: 8. Will this lens work well with my canon 80D?

A: This lens will be fully compatible with the Canon 80D.

Q: 9. Will this lens accommodate the PZ-E1 Power Zoom Adapter?

A: I do not see the connections at the bottom of lens like EF-S 18-135mm IS USM (Right now that one is the only one supported). May be more Nano USM lens will be supported in the future. I wish it does.

Q: 10. Is this lens cam be used on sports photography

A: Yes, but there are some limitations. Auto focus speed and tracking auto focus will not be as responsive as similar Canon L series lenses. And in low light situations you'll need to boost your ISO setting to maintain a high enough shutter speed.

I recently purchased the 70-300 f/4-5.6 IS II USM Lense to replace the older verson of this lense and also a much heavier Canon 100-400 lens I had purchased some time ago. I recently took a trip to several countires in south America and with some reluctence took the lens with me on the tirp, even though I was planning on taking alot of landscapes. As it turned out the lens was the one I used the most as I was out in the rainforest and in several poor countries taking photos of everyday life in those places. I must admit that I found this lens to be very usable in most of the places I visited. I got some great closeups of animals and plants in the jungle as well and some geat closeups of children and people on the streets going about their daily lives. The photos were crisps and clean.....although I must admit that in some low light situations it was difficult to get a clean shot. While the lense does not give the same crips images I was able to get with my 100-400 L, I don't miss carrying around the almost 4 pounds of lens to get those shots. Over all I've been very pleased with the lens!

I'm really liking this Lens! IS is rock solid, Focusing is lightning fast and I mean fast! Build quality is pretty good for plastic construction about the same as my 24-105L. The LCD Display is a nice and needed feature, shows Distant/ DOF, Focal Length and Image shake ( Not needed IMHO). The Focus and Zoom Ring is smooth and well damped. The Manual Focus is Electronically Controlled and the Focus does not extend or rotate like the EF 70-300 IS v1 does. Has Manual Focus override in Auto Mode.I had bought a Tamron 70-300 Di VC USD and that was a nice lens except the VC was a little herky jerky at times, then Lens was sharp from 70-200mm but above that it started to get soft and Auto Focus was a hit or miss so I returned it for the Canon. I'm glad I did, the Canon is so much better! Maybe I just got a funky copy as most reviewers were not getting the problems I did.My copy of the Canon is sharp ( not L Sharp but close enough for me ) from 70 up to 300mm. Did I say the Auto was Focus Fast?

The lens works great on my 70D Canon camera and the photos that I have taken with it are very good.

I love this lens. I had an older version of it which was damaged. This version seems to have a faster auto focus and the pictures are very sharp. I bought the lens based on excellent reviews and am not disappointed.

Mounted on a Canon EOS 6D, the lens shows strong vignette at wide open apertures but remains sharp throughout most of the focal range. Slightly front heavy but otherwise well made. Autofocus is blazing fast and silent. The LCD might be useful but I haven't found a use for it yet.
