Q: 1. compatible with the D80?
A: The Nikon AF-S 18-55mm lens is fully compatible with the D80.
Q: 2. Does this work with the Nikon D5100?
A: Yes, it is 100% compatible.
Q: 3. What is the distance you can cover at f22 as if one is shooting a vista or distant mountain range? How close can one shoot and still be in sharp focus? Are there any specs that do not match what Nikon claims? Where have you found the best price in the USA to buy new?
A: The minimum focus distance is 12.63' (3.85 m). Shooting a landscape at f/22 with that lens you are most likely set to infinity so it will all be in focus. The lens is a very good and the specifications from Nikon are correct. The version lens you clicked on is an import and does not have a Nikon warranty. This is the USA version and it has a Nikon USA warranty, a href= http://bhpho.to/1cnVy7G. target= _blank http://bhpho.to/1cnVy7G./a You can see the prices listed next to the product.
Q: 4. Is this lens compatible with the D5100?

Q: 5. sigma 180mm 2.8 macro lens coat inciluded two lens hood (available) ?
A: SIgma 180 2.8 os has one lens hood only (not like the Sigma 150 2.8 OS that has 2 lens hoods depend if you use with a full frame or with a 1.6x sensor)The Lenscoat cover exactly ALL the lens and hood. If you get the hood adapter, the coat is not included
Q: 6. How is this lens in low lighting?
A: This lens is designed to compliment the 18-55mm kit lens. But it's not a very fast lens. F4 at 55mm and F5.6 at 200mm means it's not the best choice for low light situations.
Q: 7. I guess my question is very hard to answer( keep the 500mm or purchase the 600mm if price did not matter) Lets talk about birding @ 500ft or so, now both lenses provide quality images but as owners personal point of view would you stay with the lighter 500mm tripod mounted or move up to the heavier 600mm also tripod mounted? Do you feel that in your opinion the 500mm has an edge over the 600mm or not?
A: As I had said in a previous answer: I feel no need to buy to 600. It is very heavy, eliminating any possibility of hand-held shots. I get good IQ with the 500 with 1.4x and 1.7x teleconverters. The cost of the 600 would be very extravagant when added to the cost of the 500.I went through this process in December of last year, I chose the 500 over the 600.
Q: 8. Any idea if Nikon will bring out a new 500mm f4 anytime soon? Every time I make a Nikon purchase, in the following weeks Nikon upgrades to another design. Thank You.
A: Unfortunately, we do not have foreknowledge of new Nikon equipment to be released until Nikon releases a press release announcing the camera/lens/accessories they have planned. The best I can state is to simply keep an eye on either the Press Release webpage on Nikon USA's website, a href= http://DPReview.com, target= _blank DPReview.com,/a or our website, as we update our website as soon as we receive information from Nikon on a new item they plan to release.
Q: 9. Does this lens work on a D 3300 - also what telephoto lens would you recommend for this camera if not this onw
A: The Nikon AF-S VR Zoom 70-300mm f/4.5-5.6 is fully compatible with the Nikon D3300.
Q: 10. Compatible with Nikon D3000?
A: The Nikon AF-S 18-55mm lens is fully compatible with the D3000.
