Related Questions and Answers

Q: 1. Any idea if Nikon will bring out a new 500mm f4 anytime soon? Every time I make a Nikon purchase, in the following weeks Nikon upgrades to another design. Thank You.

A: Unfortunately, we do not have foreknowledge of new Nikon equipment to be released until Nikon releases a press release announcing the camera/lens/accessories they have planned. The best I can state is to simply keep an eye on either the Press Release webpage on Nikon USA's website, a href= http://DPReview.com, target= _blank DPReview.com,/a or our website, as we update our website as soon as we receive information from Nikon on a new item they plan to release.

Q: 2. Will this work with the Nikon D-800 camera body?

A: Yes, this lens is fully compatible with the Nikon D800.

Q: 3. Does this lens work on a D 3300 - also what telephoto lens would you recommend for this camera if not this onw

A: The Nikon AF-S VR Zoom 70-300mm f/4.5-5.6 is fully compatible with the Nikon D3300.

Q: 4. Imported warranty

A: Items marked Imported are imported and/or distributed by other entities and are warranted by B&H Photo-Video. Imported products do not qualify for manufacturers rebate program.

Q: 5. How do you protect the front element of these large telephotos against dust and scratches?

A: There is not any conventional type filter made for these lenses due to their massive size and the cost it would incur. The lenses are super-coated with multiple protective coatings to prevent scratches and dust etc that one would commonly encounter when using this type of lens in the field. Further it is recommended to use the lens' hood for extra protection. Also in the Accessories tab on the link for this lens, we have many options for neoprene hood hats, neoprene lens covers and other protective products designed to protect the lens when used in the field.

Q: 6. Is this compatible with d3300?

A: Yes it is compatible. On a recent trip to Alaska It was my main lens. I took 386 pictures with it. It did a great job.

Q: 7. Is this compatible with the Nikon D40x?

A: Yes, the Nikon 55-200mm f/4-5.6G ED AF-S DX Autofocus Lens is compatible with the Nikon D40X.

Q: 8. what is the difference between active and normal on the lens

A: Active vs. normal is a reference to the Vibration Reduction feature of the Nikon AF-S VR Zoom-Nikkor 70-300mm f/4.5-5.6G IF-ED lens. Active mode effectively compensates image blur caused when shooting from a moving vehicle, or some other unstable position, providing stable viewfinder images and blur-corrected captured images, whereas normal VR is more suitable for general use and camera shake.

Q: 9. How is this lens in low lighting?

A: This lens is designed to compliment the 18-55mm kit lens. But it's not a very fast lens. F4 at 55mm and F5.6 at 200mm means it's not the best choice for low light situations.

Q: 10. Just wanted to make sure it is also compatible with a Nikon D60. yes?

A: Yes, the Nikon 18-55 AF-S lens is fully compatible with a Nikon D60.

This raincoat comes in two sizes, the pro is for the bigger lenses, say 500 and above. I bought the Digital Camo print. It goes on quickly and very easy. The cinch straps allows you to adjust the length of the cover and will keep it snug around my lens. It has a fold out arm sleeve from its integrated pocket for access to the camera controls. You can also access the camera through the rear opening and the lens through the hook & loop bottom closure. You will not need a dedicated eyepiece for the cover. It is a waterproof, breathable poly tricot material and not a bit noisy. The kit I bought has a Hood extension sleeve included for my 500 lens with teleconverter.

I was looking for a quality raincoat that was easy to install and had plenty of access to the camera. It fits the bill. I use it with a Wimberley WH-200 head and lenses up to 400 f/5.6. Since the back is open with a drawstring, I also got the Lenscoat Body Guard for a little more protection. I should be ready for anything Mother Nature throws at me.

Doesn't fit like a glove......that's a good thing for this item. Easy to put on and off. Fits my 5D with the 100-400 zoom very well. Has the added benefit of providing shade for the view screen. I plan to use this whenever the weather is iffy. I may use it for the camo feature even in good weather.

Bought for wildlife shooting in all weather(Chicago area) on a NIkon D-300 with a 200-400 f/4 lens. It fits great and easy to use. Haven't had to use it in the rain yet. A little pricey maybe but it really covers the lens and camera well.

I was scheduled to shoot the Texas State Track and Field Meet in Austin, Tx in May of 2019. Rain was scheduled for the weekend and as forecast, it dumped down. I purchased the rain coat pro and it was perfect for the canon 400 do. I am impressed with the functionality of the cover. I love the product.
