I recently migrated from the USG Pro to the UDM Pro. I chose not to actually do a migration, but do a clean configuration. So far it has been working flawlessly. I have not encountered any major issues based on how I was using the USG Pro. My network consists includes 5 other UniFi switches and 4 UniFi access points.

Always wanted to try out UniFi and have a 19 rack setup so I purchased this gateway (router). Has a lot of stuff built-in like CloudKey (to host the UniFi controller software), 8-port managed switch, NVR (software and hard drive bay to record cameras). The small touchscreen is neat to quickly checkout some stats on it. Very quiet operations.

Only took about 15 minutes to setup with a new switch. The mobile app is very intuitive and the web admin site it not to difficult to find what you need.

Bad reviews are probably user error. Yes, there is a learning curve if you’re not used to Unifi and the controller software. There’s plenty of help available on Reddit and in the Facebook group. Running mine since 5/28 without any issues. I use it with protect and 4 G3 Flex cameras with 4TB purple drive and it’s flawless. I have a nanoHD, ac pro, and ac-m mesh all hard wired to a switch 8 150W and it’s flawless. Also using the VPN to remote in for NAS access on my raspberry pi and pi-hole mobile.

I bought this along with mesh access points and a PoE switch to prepare for online school and working from home - upgrading from a consumer grade Netgear router setup. Once I connected everything - the DMP took a long time (at least an hour) to connect to the internet. For some reason, the system will not let you configure it offline (the one thing I don't really like about it). But after it finally connected, everything was straightforward to configure. System has been up for several weeks now without a hitch. I'd recommend it!

I upgraded from the ASUS ROG GT-AC5300 router and this UDM-Pro runs like a dream! The integrated controller provides excellent visibility into my network and the Unifi APs provide fantastic coverage and reliability.

Initially I had problems with getting AP's adopted, but someone pointed out a setting I needed to turn off and then everything adopted quickly without any command line stuff. I have this connected to a switch 8 150W with DAC SFP. I have wired my printer to the UDMP, my Apple TV, Hue Bridge, MyQ Garage door opener, and raspberry pi running pi-hole for whole network ad-blocking (including the remote VPN connection for when I am away from home and still want ad-blocking). VLANS are separating my IoT devices from my regular LAN. No issues so far, with 8 days of up-time so far.

I have had my UDM for 3 weeks now and I love it, no issues I have more control over my system and can add more components as time goes on and all of their products connects easily.
