This 20-stop, 58mm Kolari Vision Pro IRND Filter is optically engineered to be the most neutral filter in the visible light spectrum and beyond into the infrared range. This filter delivers neutral darkening in every wavelength, at every angle, and it is suitable for use in creating long-exposure photographic effects. Ultrawide angle tested and approved for excellent vignetting and color cast performance. Built with premium ultrathin, ultra-strong Corning Gorilla Glass, this filter is more than two times stronger than Schott B270 glass to direct impacts, and more resistant to scratches for better long-term durability. The slim-brass frame features knurling that helps with your grip, making it easier to attach and remove the filter.

This filter is designed for direct solar viewing.

Q: 1. Has anyone tried the Variable 82mm on a sony 16-35GM2.8? I want to know if you saw any vignetting or any issues with it. I know the 24-70gm also has the same filter thread so I was wondering just how wide you can go with the filter beefore vignetting.

A: Today's Polarizers from quality manufacturers are all made to be thin to avoid vignetting on wide lenses. This one from B+W has the coveted Thin Brass Filter Ring. You will be good.

Q: 2. Hi,I was wondering 2 things about this filter:* does it have hard stops ?* what is the size of the front filter ? is it 62mm ? thanks

A: This B+W 62mm XS-Pro Digital ND Vario MRC nano Filter has hard stops from +1 to +5 stops. The front thread size on this filter is 67mm; in order to avoid vignetting, the front filter thread is oversized.

Q: 3. Does this filter come with an 82 mm front cap?

A: Received only the filter without cap

Q: 4. Does the recommended accessory 62mm lens cap fit on the open end of the hood? (FWIW, a 55mm cap fits on similar hood that is designed to fit lenses with 49mm filter size.) If not, what if any cap will fit the hood?

A: Yes, the front threads of the hood are 62mm.

Q: 5. Would an 82mm lens cap be a snug fit with this? Or does it need to be bigger?

A: The 82mm cap works well on the filter for 77mm

Q: 6. anybody using this filter? Have you had any problems?

A: I've had it for a few months. Bought it because the Bower 95mm was just awful.... you get what you pay for! Personally, I've noticed no X pattern on this filter at all -- even at its highest level of filtering. I've not noticed too much of a color shift either....

Q: 7. What is the height of this lens hood, minus the threads? thank you.

A: The height, minus threads is 1 inch or 2.54 centimeters

Q: 8. What type of lens cap to use for the B+W 82mm XS-Pro Digital ND Vario MRC nano Filter ?

A: I am using the Slip-over cover which came with the Filter, however it is very annoying, since it falls off all the time. Please let me know if there is a suitable cover, which is held secure.

Q: 9. Does this vignette on the Fuji new 23mm/1.4 v2 wr lens?

A: Yes, the following hood is designed and made for lenses 50mm and longer.

Q: 10. Hey guys/gals! I have the 82mm on a sony GMaster 24-70mm 2.8. I mainly got it for shooting video becasue slog has a minimum iso of 800 so I needed to reduce the light. Everything seemed to be working perfectly for awhile but now I'm starting to notice some vignetting in the corners when I'm at 24mm. It's very slight when shooting video but pretty bad when I'm shooting photos. What's goin on?? Anyone else with a similar experience or did I just not notice it before for some reason?...

A: That is true and why I sent it back. Get the Schneider 82mm True-Match Vari-ND Filter instead. It does not do that due to it's type of construction. Although more money, it is worth it.
