This 15-stop, 62mm Kolari Vision Pro IRND Filter is optically engineered to be the most neutral filter in the visible light spectrum and beyond into the infrared range. This filter delivers neutral darkening in every wavelength, at every angle, and it is suitable for use in creating long-exposure photographic effects. Ultrawide angle tested and approved for excellent vignetting and color cast performance. Built with premium ultrathin, ultra-strong Corning Gorilla Glass, this filter is more than two times stronger than Schott B270 glass to direct impacts, and more resistant to scratches for better long-term durability. The slim-brass frame features knurling that helps with your grip, making it easier to attach and remove the filter.

This filter is designed specifically for photography applications. This filter is not suitable for direct solar viewing with the naked eye, including with optical viewfinders.

Q: 1. According to the write up: Note: This filter ring's outside diameter is slightly larger than the actual thread size, and because of this you may be unable to attach the lens manufacturer's bayonet-mounted lens hood to the lens while using this filter. This is dependent on your specific lens and how thick the front rim of the lens is; with thinner, low-profile lenses usually being affected more.So if I apply this model B+W on a Nikon 50mm 1.8G lens, will the Nikon lens cap and the Nikon lens hood snap onto the threads? Thanks.Del

A: I am using the 58mm XS-Pro UV MRC-Nano 010M Filter on a Nikon 50mm 1.8G lens. I have had no problems at all with the lens cap or hood when this filter is on the lens.

Q: 2. Can I use this filter on the Nikkor 105 WITH the lens hood?

A: 105 can be only with 62 filter.

Q: 3. Is this a good fit for Canon 70-200 mm f/2.8L IS III (version 3) lens?

A: Yes, the B+W 77mm XS-Pro UV Haze MRC-Nano 010M Filter, B&H # BWUVXSP77, would be compatible for use with the Canon EF 70-200mm f/2.8L IS III USM Lens.

Q: 4. Hi, does this filter take away from the IQ quality, or loss of light, degradation of image QDo I have take it off indoors, or when lighting is lowI need it just to protect the lensis there any downside using the lens filterscan you recommend me better lens filter doesn't loss of image Q Will this Filter work on canon17-55 f2.8mm lensthanks

A: B+W brand of filters happen to be of the highest quality filter manufacturers you could select to put on your lenses. This filter is a multi-coated filter which means the it has been treated with special optical coatings to improve light transmission, color accuracy and contrast. When using multi-coated filters like this there is not any loss/degradation of image quality. This filter will compliment the best lenses you could mount them on and will offer protection in any situation. There is no need to remove them when shooting indoors or in poor lighting as they do not decrease the light transmission (rather they help maintain the transmission as mentioned prior). This filter is the proper size for the Canon 17-55mm f2.8 lens and is one I commonly recommend for use with it.

Q: 5. Can you use this filter with the Leica Q lens hood?

A: Yes

Q: 6. When I use this filter on Canon EF-S 18-135mm f/3.5-5.6 IS STM Lens can I install, remove and reverse Canon hood without removing the filter?I had Nano filter on 18-55 mm lens, and I had to remover the Nano filter each time I wanted to remove the hood or reverse the hood. Filter's edge was made thicker in order to compensate the thinness of the lens casing.

A: i used 3 nano filters of various dimensions. None of them interfered with the hood of the lens. i am using 67mm for my 35 F2 IS and for 100mm macro L. i am not having any issues with respect to hood installation.

Q: 7. Anyone know what's the meaning of "digital" in the rim? Just curious. Obviously it doesn't mean it's only for digital sensors. It's got some computer chips in it maybe?

A: These filters have been developed for digital sensors in the way that light is gathered on them, the filter maximizes how the light falls on the sensor and how each pixel records light.

Q: 8. Will this filter work with a CoolPix A and a Nikon UR-E24 filter adapter and an HN-CP18 lens hood set?The filter adapter takes a 46mm filter so that should work just fine. However, I wonder if the lens hood will fit over the filter?

A: Yes, the Nikon UR-E24 Filter Adapter and HN-CP18 Lens Hood Set for COOLPIX A Camera (Black) B&H # NIURE24B MFR # 25874 is compatible with the Nikon COOLPIX A Digital Camera. With the adapter you can attach most 46mm filters.

Q: 9. Is B+H an authorized B+W dealer? I went on the Scheider Optics website and they are not listed as a dealer

A: Yes, B&H is an authorized B+W dealer.

Q: 10. What's the best way to clean this filter? I recently tried using Giotto's Professional Multi Optical Cleaning Solution with a Lens Cleaning Tissue and it left hideous streaks/residue on the surface. Nothing I did would get rid of the streaks, and in a panic I simply wet my fingers with some tap water, moistened the surface of the filter and gently used another tissue. Streaks/cleanser residue finally disappeared. So, what's up with that? I certainly didn't expect to have such a problem, especially when I bought the cleaning solution through B&H and it had such great reviews. There wasn't any info on the insert included with the filter that specified anything about cleaning recommendations. Any help is greatly appreciated.

A: I am sorry you have had such a difficult time cleaning this filter off. It is possible that the cleaning solution you purchased may not perform well with the particular coatings used on this filter. I personally use a microfiber cleaning cloth, and Zeiss brand cleaning solution on all of my lenses and filters and other optics. The solution is extremely effective and is safe for all photo optics and optical coatings. Combined with a microfiber cloth Ive never had a filter or lens I could not get clean.
