Q: 1. thanks to mauricio for the answer and sorry to be thick. is there a diagram somewhere that could show me how to attach the bottom of the 2 pieces (receiver for the arca swiss QR plate). seems like i'd have to remove my tripod head and replace it with the receiver part? my tripod is a vanguard 263ap pro+ which has a pan/zoom type tripod head which i would not want to remove. anyone? thanks!

A: You would be able to mount it to the top of your current tripod without having to disassemble anything. You would be able to mount it to the existing 1/4 20 on the tripod using one of the 1/4 20 points on the receiver .

Q: 2. Can I apply a kirk quick release clamp to this ballhead?

A: You are not able to interchange them however you can screw the Kirk QR adapter into the 1/4 -20 thread of the ball head.

Q: 3. I have the oben GH800 and the supplied plate won't stay tight. Will this work with my canon 100-400 foot ? I'm not sure what the 2 screws are for. Does one go to the camera and the other to the foot of the Lens?

A: This arca plate would be too long for the Canon 100-400 4.5-5.6 IS II lens. For that lens I recommend this Wimberely P10 plate. It has a lip in the front of the plate that will hold the lens from twisting in the plate. Plates come with multiple screws because some lenses accept more than one screw on the bottom of the lens. https://www.bhphotovideo.com/c/product/205333-REG/Wimberley_P_10_P10_Quick_Release_Plate.html

Q: 4. Will this Arca Swiss Monoball head attach to the Sony aA7Rii Camera base plate?

A: Yes, the 1/4 -20 Screw on top of the ball head will fit into the bottom thread of the a7r II camera.

Q: 5. how does the base plate attach to tripod?

A: There are 1 x 3/8"-16 and 3 x 1/4"-20 threads at the bottom to allow for tripod mounting.

Q: 6. Is this Z1+?

A: Yes, it is. Cat# 801101 is the plus.

Q: 7. Is this the right plate for a Tamron 150-600?

A: The removable rotating tripod collar included with the Tamron SP 150-600mm f/5-6.3 Di VC USD G2 Lens features an Arca-type compatible foot. So, no plate is necessary to mount the lens on an Arca-type compatible tripod head.

Q: 8. Can I take the head off on this Monoball Z1 to apply a Really Right Stuff - BS AS II Quick-Release Clamp?

A: This Monoball Z1 doesnt have a quick release system, so you could attach a Really right Stuff B2 AS II quick release clamp directly to the head. You dont need to take anything off of the head.

Q: 9. Hi! I just bought this AS Monoball Z1 sp w flat disc, assuming I could remove the disc and install an RRS QR system, however read conflicting article that it will not be user replaceable. I will send it back if thats the case. Can I remove the flat disc or not? I don't want to screw the RRS QR plate on top of the disc. Thanks

A: I bought the Arca Monoball Z1 sp with the flat disc in 2014, and proceeded to do exactly as you intendremove the flat disk and install the RRS QR clamp. My procedure was to firmly clamp a 3/8 bolt into my vise and then mount the Z1 to that bolt. Then I positioned the flat plate into the Z1 vertical slot (the 90 degrees slot) and firmly tightened all the Z1 controls. Then fit an appropriate socket to the hex-head attaching screw and apply CCW force (the screw is a common right-hand-thread). The relief around the hex-head attaching screw is tight, so it may be necessary to fit a thin-wall socket. In any case, be certain the socket gets fully inserted on the hex to avoid rounding off the hex. I used a long handled ratchet on my 3/8-drive socket to allow me to apply the necessary torque (around 20 to 30 foot-pounds).In late 2013 the photo press mentioned that Arca had replaced their thread sealant with a more permanent epoxy type, which was impossible to remove. I purchased my Z1 in mid 2014, and the flat plate was easily removed with moderate torque. However, if your later-issue Z1 proves recalcitrant, try applying pinpoint heat to the hex-head attaching screw immediately prior to applying removal torque a few seconds with a propane torch should add the necessary heat. Or simply send the Z1 to their US repair facility (Precision Camera) and let them do it for a few dollars. Turn-around time is usually very fast, and it will be money well spent.Ive used a selection of ball heads, and I feel the Z1 to be one of the best. Coupled with an RRS clamp, this is an excellent platform.

Q: 10. Does the knob have friction control?

A: Yes, the following unit offers PMF tension control.
