A: Hi, B&H asked me to answer your question as I have purchased the stand myself. I am just another customer. You are correct, it is not threaded and it is not designed to come off. But it is a very cool universally designed male fitting. In order to make it work, you also need to purchase the Litepanels SOLA ENG stand adapter as well - B&H# LISESA : Mfr# 9006105. It fits over top of the male stand plug and is securely attached by the twist handle. Lastly, that adapter comes with threaded screw on the top to match your light - 1/4 am almost certain. The stand is great, so is the adapter. Gives a lot of options combined. I don't think you will be disappointed if you buy them. Good luck and good shooting!
