This 10-stop, 77mm Kolari Vision Pro IRND Filter is optically engineered to be the most neutral filter in the visible light spectrum and beyond into the infrared range. This filter delivers neutral darkening in every wavelength, at every angle, and it is suitable for use in creating long-exposure photographic effects. Ultrawide angle tested and approved for excellent vignetting and color cast performance. Built with premium ultrathin, ultra-strong Corning Gorilla Glass, this filter is more than two times stronger than Schott B270 glass to direct impacts, and more resistant to scratches for better long-term durability. The slim-brass frame features knurling that helps with your grip, making it easier to attach and remove the filter.

This filter is designed specifically for photography applications. This filter is not suitable for direct solar viewing with the naked eye, including with optical viewfinders.

Related Questions and Answers

Q: 1. Can this filter be used on wide angle lenses for example Sigma 10-20mm? I have tried cheaper alternatives with extremely poor results. Uneven darkening and camera (Pentax K-7) metering failing resulting in gross underexposure.

A: I've tried only 2 variable ND filters: this B+W one and a similar one by Genustech. Non-variable ND filters have fewer problems. From what I've read, most of the variable ND's, like the Genustech, have the shortcomings you describe. This B+W does not. It is consistent in how it transmits light across the whole filter without the usual cross artifact that darkens the image unevenly. I use this filter mainly for video with large sensor cameras; my only qualm with the filter is that it doesn't get dark enough for very bright scenes and that's partly due to my lowest ISO rating being 400. So I have to stop down the lens anyway, just not as much, but more than I'd like to. I can't vouch for no vignetting on a 10mm super wide lens. I get no vignetting at 17mm focal length on my 17-55mm Nikon zoom. B+W's engineering and build quality is usually superior to the rest.

Q: 2. For this 52mm filter--is the front thread diameter also 52mm? Thanks!

A: The front thread is 52mm.

Q: 3. does this 95mm filter still allows for the Sony 200-600 mm lens factory hood to be mounted with the filter on?

A: You coudl use the included lens hood on the Sony FE 200-600mm f/5.6-6.3 G OSS Lens with the B+W 95mm XS-Pro Digital ND Vario MRC-Nano Filter.

Q: 4. Does it come with a lens cap?

A: No it does not. I purchased an 82mm one separately.

Q: 5. Does this vignette on the tokina 11-20mm 2.8?

A: No there will be no vignetting when using the B+W 82mm XS-Pro Digital ND Vario MRC-Nano Filter. XS-PRO filters are designed with a thinner ring so they can avoid vignetting on a wide angle lens.

Q: 6. Does this filter have hard stops?

A: So as not to confuse with my prior answer, there are no intermediate stops but yes there are stops at each end.

Q: 7. How scratch resistant is this? -- Im also considering the Hoya HD3 as it multi-coating claims to help with scratch resistance

A: The ZEISS 82mm Carl ZEISS T* Circular Polarizer Filter features a world class coating, that is very scratch resistant. The advantage to the Hoya HD3, is it's anti-static capability. If one is working in a location with constant sand flying around the HD3 would be a good choice.

Q: 8. This filter works with the K2 system?

A: The Freewell Magnetic IRND1000 Filter for Eiger Matte Box System (10-Stop) is specifically designed for and only compatible with the Eiger Matte Box Filter System. You would need this version for the K2 system: https://bhpho.to/4eZydKH

Q: 9. Will I be able to use my LX100 auto lens cap or JJC auto lens cap with this?

A: You will be able to use lens caps with this filter, yes.

Q: 10. May I use this with a Formatt clamp on matte box?

A: No , this adapter ring is mad for FotodioX Pro 100mm Filter Holder for Fotodiox Pro 100x133mm and Cokin Z-Pro (L) Series Filters
