This 20-stop, 77mm Kolari Vision Pro IRND Filter is optically engineered to be the most neutral filter in the visible light spectrum and beyond into the infrared range. This filter delivers neutral darkening in every wavelength, at every angle, and it is suitable for use in creating long-exposure photographic effects. Ultrawide angle tested and approved for excellent vignetting and color cast performance. Built with premium ultrathin, ultra-strong Corning Gorilla Glass, this filter is more than two times stronger than Schott B270 glass to direct impacts, and more resistant to scratches for better long-term durability. The slim-brass frame features knurling that helps with your grip, making it easier to attach and remove the filter.

This filter is designed for direct solar viewing.

Q: 1. Are there any pros and cons between this Zeiss CP and a B+W Kaesemann CP?

A: I second the last reviewer. I have purchased and used both. Despite having a brass ring, the B+W has stuck to my lens thread. I even have a 72mm C-Pol filter by B+W with out of round adjustment ring. The worst part is that the polarizing film even has specks of dust trapped on the underside and mildly lifted at a small part of the edge (which I wasnt expecting for a Kaesmann). And there is even a part where the polarizing film was not even timed to meet the metal ring, leaving a micro gap prone to light leakage. Very disappointing for a B+W filter, given the price point. Otherwise, the optical quality was great. I have had mostly good luck with B+W filters except for this 72mm C-Pol and another 6-point star filter. Probably a QC issues at Schneider. The Zeiss is something else. The quality and craftsmanship are in a different league. The first thing you will notice when you open the package is the quality of the packaging. The filter comes out dust-free, a strong indication of a high-end facility from where it is produced. Dont be fooled by the aluminum ring. It easily tops all B+W filters I have ever used in terms of ease of attachment and removal. The machining of the threading is so precise it prevents any sticking at all. I have had zero issues in this regard. Optically, it is definitely no worse than B+W. but I dont know if it is better. QC is top notch just like any Zeiss products. Dont be discouraged by the fact that the Zeiss filter is made in Japan. Japanese are equally proud of their craftsmanship as their German counterparts. The extra cost is definitely worth the quality. All my future filters will be Zeiss.

Q: 2. will this filter vignette with the Canon EF 16-35mm F4L lens?

A: I'm a Nikon shooter, so my answer is in that context. I no longer have my Nikkor 17-35, so the best other lens I could test it on is my Nikkor 12-24, which is a DX lens (also a 77mm diameter). Yours, however, is an FX lens, so I don't know how that may affect the comparison. I tested it on the D800, in full format mode. I noticed the beginning of vignetting when the focal length was 19mm. I did it a few times, and that was consistent. So, if this is in any way accurate, you can probably expect to lose a few mm of focal length at the3 wide end when you use this filter. I don't know if this filter is made in a thinner version for wide angle use. Hope this helped.

Q: 3. What is the widest focal length this can be used on with no vignetting?

A: I have the filter on my 24-70mm/f2.8 lens. So the widest is 24mm. I did not see any vignetting. I am very happy with this filter.

Q: 4. Does this create vignetting on the Voigt 40mm f/1.2 on a Leica M?

A: No, this filter should not cause vignetting on a 40mm lens.

Q: 5. How about thickness of 72mm XS-pro Digital ND Vario MRC-Nano? Is the thickness double as XS-Pro ND non-Vario one?

A: Since we are not sure of the thickness you are interested in and the second filter you are asking about, please email us at prophoto@bhphoto.com.

Q: 6. does this 95mm filter still allows for the Sony 200-600 mm lens factory hood to be mounted with the filter on?

A: You coudl use the included lens hood on the Sony FE 200-600mm f/5.6-6.3 G OSS Lens with the B+W 95mm XS-Pro Digital ND Vario MRC-Nano Filter.

Q: 7. May I use this with a Formatt clamp on matte box?

A: No , this adapter ring is mad for FotodioX Pro 100mm Filter Holder for Fotodiox Pro 100x133mm and Cokin Z-Pro (L) Series Filters

Q: 8. Does this filter have hard stops?

A: So as not to confuse with my prior answer, there are no intermediate stops but yes there are stops at each end.

Q: 9. Will I be able to use my LX100 auto lens cap or JJC auto lens cap with this?

A: You will be able to use lens caps with this filter, yes.

Q: 10. Does this vignette on the tokina 11-20mm 2.8?

A: No there will be no vignetting when using the B+W 82mm XS-Pro Digital ND Vario MRC-Nano Filter. XS-PRO filters are designed with a thinner ring so they can avoid vignetting on a wide angle lens.
