Related Questions and Answers

Q: 1. What is the effective change in the adapted lens' focal length? E.g., for a 40mm lens, what is its effective focal length when used with the adapter?

A: The adapter will not change the focal length of the lens.

Q: 2. What frame lines will it show for leica film cameras?

A: It will not bring up any frame lines but the Leica film cameras have a manual lever so you can set the frame lines. The frame lines can be changed with the lever that's on the front of almost all Leica cameras, the little frameline selector level, It will change what you see in the viewfinder. The Leica M2, for example, has 35mm, 50mm, and 90mm frame lines inside. So if you are adapting an 85mm lens, you would probably want to use the 90mm frame lines so get a close estimate.

Q: 3. This is probably a silly question..but I forgot all laws of physics I studied a long time ago.. What about the depth of field? Does it change when the adapter aperture ring is turned? Does it change the same way as when the lens is mounted without any adapters and the aperture is adjusted in camera? Or will I get stuck with the same shallow depth of field corresponding to the wide open aperture of the lens ?

A: It does, although I have not determined how the settings on the adapter correlate with a specific aperture setting. Still in the experimental state with that although I am very happy with the mount. It's a nice solid build and mounts my Canon EF lenses solidly to a Fuji XT-1 body. It's a bit clunky looking on the small body and since buying the adapter have been able to afford to upgrade to all Fuji lenses but this was a good alternative until I could do that.

Q: 4. Will this work with a Mamiya/Sekor f2 50mm lens? The issue is the extended post at the bottom of the lens.

A: Yes it will..there is an internal ring that will press aperture pin on M42 mount lens..depending on your lens your distance scale and such might not align in the exact center of camera...There are a few set screws you can loosen and reposition lens and re-tighten..

Q: 5. Adapter will not release from the 100-400 Canon EF lens. I cannot find a release mechanism anywhere. Any solutions?

A: Hi Thomas, Sorry to take so long to get back to you. It is very simple to release the Canon/ Fuji adapter. Just slide the little button toward the blue ring. Twist as normal and that's it. Good Luck! I use mine on the Rokinon 8mm fish-eye (B&H) on my Fuji and it is great!

Q: 6. What frame lines does this adapter bring up on a M 262?

A: This adapter would not bring up any frame lines with the M 262.

Q: 7. How does one deal with the focus in the rangefinder using this adapter?

A: As the FotodioX Minolta MD/MC Pro Lens Adapter does not have electronic contacts, and does not transmit information from the lens to the camera, autofocus is not possible when using this adapter. You will have to focus manually when using a manual-focus Minolta MD/MC mount lens on a Leica M-mount camera.

Q: 8. can nikon 50 mm 1.8G lens focusing auto in fuji xe2 with fotodiox adapter??

A: No, all the nikon to fuji mount adaptors can't support the outofocus.

Q: 9. Would this work with Leica Film cameras as well? (M3 and upwards)

A: Yes, this will work Leica M-mount film cameras.

Q: 10. Will this adapter also work with Nikon D type lenses?

A: Yes, this adapter will work with G and D Nikon lenses F mount lenses.
