Related Questions and Answers
Q: 1. Will it work for an Olympus OM 65200mm? Also, a Nikon D70?
A: This adapter allows you to use Olympus lenses on Nikon f mount cameras. So Yes you can put this adapter on the Nikon camera and then screw the lens onto the adapter. Keep in mind that you may have to use aperture priority or manual modes. Your auto mods will not work.
Q: 2. FotodioX Pro Adapter for Select Olympus Zuiko OM Lens to Nikon F-Mount Camera, fits the nikon d3300?
A: Yes, the Fotodiox Pro Adapter for select Olympus Zuiko OM Lens to Nikon F-mount Camera would allow you to connect manual-focus Olympus OM-mount lenses to the Nikon D3300 DSLR camera. Do note that, as indicated under the Overview for the lens adapter, some Olympus OM lenses (typically wide angle lenses) have a shield that protrudes from the rear of the lens. This shield will prevent the lens from mounting on the adapter. Also note that you would have to use the Nikon D3300 DSLR camera in full manual mode when using this adapter.
Q: 3. Will this adaptor work with Nikon D5200 camera?
A: I bought this adapter to use with my d7000. It was totally useless with very poor optics. Only some olympus lenses work with it as well. I tried tub use my 50mm 1.4 and 35mm olympus lens - one of them has a metal tab which does not allow connection to the adapter. But again optic quality not worth the trouble with very soft (out of focus) areas outside the centre of the frame. Hope this is helpful - you should try before you buy.
Q: 4. Will auto diaphragm work with this adapter? I mean, can I focus the lens wide open and when taking the picture, the diaphragm will close to the stop down aperture?
A: My Hexanon lenses from my Konica camera adapt to my Nikon D100 camera, but I can't view through wide open aperture. It's not too inconvenient focusing in reasonable light because the focus indicator light still works. All other settings are set manually in conjunction with an external light meter. My main objective was to have the use of otherwise very good lenses.I hope this helped somewhat. PS B&H is very helpful; and they have great free instructional videos.
Q: 5. Will this adapter fit on the Nikon D500?
A: Yes this adapter will fit the Nikon D500.
Q: 6. will this work on olympus 50 mm 1.4?
A: As long as your Olympus 50mm f/1.4 has the OM mount, you could use it with this adapter to mount the lens on a Nikon F Camera.
Q: 7. Will this work with an Olympus G. Zuiko Auto-S lens going to a Fujifilm S5Pro with the Nikon F mount? Will auto focus work?
A: Yes, the FotodioX Pro Lens Mount Adapter for Olympus OM Lens to Nikon F Mount Camera will work with the Olympus G. Zuiko Auto-S lens going to the Fujifilm S5Pro with a Nikon F mount, but this is a manual focus adapter that maintains infinity focus, so autofocus will not work.
Q: 8. Will this fit an olympus mount sigma 28mm f2.8 to go on a nikon d3200?
A: The answer is No and Yes. I have a Nikon D90 and the FotodioX Pro Adapter fits my Nikon so should fit yours. I really like that it allowed me to use my 135 mm olympus lens, which has been unused for the last decade. There is a plastic projection that sticks out of the camera side of the 28mm, 50mm, and 2x multiplier lenses (I own all three) making the FotodioX unusable . . . HOWEVER, if you buy something like the vivitar extension tubes then you can put the Fotodio on the camera, then the extension tube, then any of the above listed lens to include the 28mm f2.8. A problem is that this sets up the 28mm for use as a macro lens. A slight work around is to put the FotodioX, the Vivitar extension, the 2X multiplier and then the 28mm or the 50mm. This allows you to take close ups of fingers, but not hands, smiles but not faces, thus also a macro only lens. So the answer is mostly no, but partially yes in that with the extension tubes you can use the lenses as macro lenses for close ups. Perhaps a nice side use if your main purpose is to use your 135mm, but probably not worth buying just for the 28mm. Hope this helps! Thanks for everyone else's comments, I'm sure they helped me in the past and will help me in the future.
Q: 9. HI, I have an old Olympus lens f35-210, does this adapter alowed me to use it on my Nikon D5200?THX
A: Flippo, I obtained the adapter to use a series Nikon FX digital cameras with an Olympus OM bayonet mount. The adapter works perfectly and the image on the sensor was parfocal with the image in the Olympus Microscope. I have every reason to believe that the situation would be the same with older OM lenses being fitted to the Nikon camera body. (Think of the microscope as a special close-up lens) The adapter has a lens which seems to compensate for the close up effect of adding what is similar to a close-up ring between the camera and lens. No adapter is perfect and there may be a little variation for infinity and minimum focus points but good results can be obtained at any rate. The adapter is extremely well made and of very high quality. Like all such adapters you will need to use the camera on manual settings for focus and F-stop etc. since the lens is older, of a different make and will not have the auto electronic contacts. If needs be, the built in lens can be simply screwed out. I hope this helps. It is worth a try to get even limited use of a good lens.
Q: 10. I have new OM Lens. Pro 7x14. Pro 12-40. Plus 12-150. Will this adapter work. Reason I want to purchase I would like to use the Peak Design lens kit.
A: I can't comment directly w.r.t. your needs, but can tell you about our usage. We were coupling a Nikon digital (D300) camera to an old Olympus microscope which was set up with an Olympus film camera. It worked fine for that purpose. The important thing was that there is no communication between the microscope and the camera, so the camera must have a stand-alone auto metering system. Many lower end Nikons communicate only with their lenses, so if you use an adapter like this, it won't work. Higher end Nikons, because professionals may have a variety of lenses from different manufacturers, do not limit their operation to Nikon lenses.Maybe not so helpful, but it is worth considering whether the whatever Nikon camera you couple to the ring and the lens be compatible - I know for a fact that lower end Nikons do not work with our microscope, but the D300 and D800 work fine.
