Related Questions and Answers

Q: 1. Is this adapter has aperture control dial in order to use it with auto focus Minolta lenses?

A: This adapter does not control the lens in any way. Aperture would be controlled on the lens. Minolta MD lenses were not Auto Focus lenses.

Q: 2. Good Evening, asking if it'll work with D700 FX?

A: Yes, the FotodioX Pro Lens Mount Adapter for Minolta MD Lens to Nikon F Mount Camera will work with the Nikon D700.

Q: 3. will this work with a nikon d5200?

A: It should, I bought the adapter to use with my D3400 and it works great.

Q: 4. will this work on a d3500 camera?

A: Yes it will on manual focus and shutter speed and aperture

Q: 5. Will this work on Nikon D5300 camera ?

A: The FotodioX Adapter for Minolta MD-Mount Lens to Nikon F-Mount will work on the Nikon D5300.

Q: 6. Will this adapter fit the Nikon D90?

A: MY MINOLTA 50mm lens is 48 years old and with the adapter it now fits my DSLR Nikon D3400. I do have to manually set aperture and shutter for this lens. I don't find that a chore since I'm doing that with my D3400.

Q: 7. Is there any drop off in light with the adapter? Will the camera sensor receive the expected 1.8mm of light from a 1.8 mm Minolta lens set wide open?

A: The FotodioX Adapter for Minolta MD-Mount Lens to Nikon F-Mount will increase your focal length by about 1.4x and you will also lose about 1 f-stop of light. You Nikon camera will need to be used in manual exposure mode when using this adapter and depending on your camera model, the built in light meter might not work.

Q: 8. Will this work on Nikon D810 adapts to Minolta MC OR MD LENS?

A: This adapter will allow mounting a Minolta MD lens onto any Nikon F mount camera including the D810.

Q: 9. Can you recommend a small felt pouch or case that would fit this lens adapter?

A: To be honest, I leave it on the lens and keep the whole lens in a lens bag/pouch.

Q: 10. Hello, I know this will work my Nikon 7200, just curious if there is an adapter that will fit my MD lenses to my Nikon that has an autofocus motor.

A: Hi Isaiah,I am using the adapter on a Nikon F3 manual focus camera. Unfortunately I can't answer regarding digital Nikons.

This adapter works brilliantly on my Nikon Camera with the Boyer Topaz Lens that I got! This allows you to use only manual lenses that you can buy for cheap on ebay!

The adapter does what it says. It is limited, but that is to be expected since we're talking about two different camera mounts. It is good to be able to use some of my favorite Minolta MD lenses on my digital Nikon.

Great adapter, allows me to use an old 100-300 macro lens with my D750.

The Minolta-to-Nikon lens mount adapter works very well. It is easy to attach and allows me to use a range of Minolta lenses that had been sitting on a shelf collecting dust.

Feels very well-made. Works perfectly attaching my old Minolta lenses (and one Vivitar made for Minolta lens) with my Nikon D5500. Others have said there is no clicking into place, which in my case is not true. It's quieter than I'd like but there IS a click on mine when I put on both the lens and when I attach it to the camera body as well. Others have also said theirs were wobbly and felt insecure, but mine isn't like that. It feels quite sturdy and well-attached. Perhaps they fixed the problem, or others were unlucky? I don't know. Mine is fantastic though and performs perfectly. Absolutely love getting use on a DSLR with these 40 year old manual lenses.

All these years since the dawn of the digital age, my very fine Minolta Rokkor, Vivitar and other 35 mm lenses lay fallow. What a sad and wasteful thing to not use such fine products without having to step back into film with all the expenses and other drawbacks. Last year, on the advice of a friend, I looked into the options and at that time found nothing suitable. But recently, I learned that if my old lenses were the MD types, this mount could connect it to Nikon cameras; in my case, a D5300. The B&H phone rep was knowledgeable, helpful and in short order, pun intended, the adapter arrived. It works as advertised. I have a Minolta lens that zooms out to 210 mm on the 35. It lives again to bring images in and just as sharp as the old film. Make sure you understand the most important thing about this approach, which the rep was crystal clear about: With the adapter, the DSLR functions only in manual mode. The D5300 dial is set to M and the camera will let you set the shutter speed. After that, you use the zoon ring, aperture ring and focus ring just like the old days. On a fixed lens, of course, it's just the focus and aperture. I have the camera set for a quick review of the shot, so I can make adjustments. It's not that hard and with practice, I (and you) will become more facile with it. It's not the perfect solution, but with practice at focusing and exposure, the phots I've gotten are clear, crisp and a joyful experience.

Easy to use despite its lack of directions and overkill packaging (a box within another box). Solidly built and does its job with no complaints. I think it's been said before but obviously your autofocus will not work and your light meter (at least mine on the d5300) doesn't work.
