Related Questions and Answers

Q: 1. Will this adaptor allow the lenses to be mounted to Nikon DX bodies as well?

A: Yes, the adaptor allows the screw mount Lens to mate with the Nikon DX body without a problem, don't forget the camera will only operate in manual mode.

Q: 2. Will this allow focus to infinity? Thanks!

A: Yes it will. I'm using an old Osawa 35-105 Macro MC lens on a Canon XS and it works fine. Bear in mind, the lens will be a completely manual operation, only the camera metering will work. Best results will be with camera set to Manual. The adapter is a small price to pay to have some fun with an old favorite lens that was otherwise used as a paper weight.Good Luck!

Q: 3. Is there an adaptor for Leica M lenses to Nikon F mount?

A: No, M42 refers to a 42mm screw mount lens like M39 refers to a 39mm Leica screw mount lens. I am not sure what lenses use a 42mm mount, certainly not Leica.M lenses use the M bayonet mount, which is the same a Visoflex bayonet mount. You need a Leica/Leitz visoflex to Nikon F mount adapter.

Q: 4. Hello. If the adapter has a lens 1.4x, does it mean that a Helios 58mm in a Nikon D5600 will become in a 113mm (58 X 1.4 X 1.4) (correction factor of the camera and correction factor of the adapter)?

A: If you are looking for the 35mm equivalent focal length of a full-frame lens with a native 58mm focal length used on a Nikon APS-C sensor with the FotodioX Pro Lens Mount Adapter for M42 Lens to Nikon F Mount Camera, the new equivalent 35mm focal length would be 121.8mm. Your math was close, but in your (58 x 1.4 x 1.4) equation, you mis-typed the camera's crop factor, which is 1.5x. As such, 58mm x 1.4 would be 81.2mm, which is the equivalent focal length when using the Fotodiox adapter on a camera with a full-frame sensor, and you would then multiply 81.2mm x 1.5, which equals 121.8mm, which would be the 35mm equivalent focal length when used on the 1.5x APS crop sensor found in the Nikon D5600 DLSR camera.

Q: 5. Is this the correct adapter for Carl Zeiss Jena Biotar 58mm F2 to Nikon D800 ? Will it allow infinity focus?

A: Yes, the FotodioX Pro Lens Mount Adapter for M42 Lens to Nikon F Mount Camera can be used to mount the Carl zeiss Jena Biotar 58mm f2 lens to the Nikon D800 Digital SLR Camera.

Q: 6. Will this adapter let me use Super-Takumar lenses and Pentax M42 extension tubes with a D3400?

A: I used with a vivitar 500mm m42 mounted to a Nikon d800. Lots of vignetting, but hey you cannot expect perfect results. I cropped in and got some great images.

Q: 7. Is this the Type 2 of the adapter?, for M42-mount lens with a fully depressible aperture pin? Because it doesn't say in the title or in the photos.

A: It is type 1. If you need type 2, they make this version: https://bhpho.to/352szF6

Q: 8. Will this work with a Nikon F2?

A: Yes, it is compatible with the F2.

Q: 9. can my nikon d750 still give me focus confirmation with this adapter?

A: The short answer is no, the adapter will work optically, but there isn't any autofocus at all. On the auto focus lenses you use with your D750, you should notice electrical contacts that are absent on the lens you are trying to use with this adaptor. With no electrical connection to the lens auto-focus is not possible. That being said, the adaptor, along with the corrective lens in the adaptor will allow manual focus. I used this adaptor with a 50mm f/1.4 Takumar lens that came with my Asahi Spotmatic, and it's a terrific lens, so if your M42 mount lens is a good one, this adaptor will allow you to use it.

Q: 10. Because m42 has a shorter flange distance than f-mount, will this end up affecting focus and/or focal length?

A: IT has a 1.4x multiplier so all lenses will be 1.4x longer. The multiplier is required to achieve infinity focus.
