When using this step-up ring, the magnetic VND system base ring is no longer required; the step-up ring will act as the base ring itself. No problems so far with stuck or seized filters. Filters thread on the step-up ring and the ring threads on the lens easily. I never tighten beyond a finger loose feel (10 to 15 degrees of rotation remaining before a hard stop.) 5

Far better than an aluminum ring as aluminum is far softer and more apt to gall on the aluminum threads on most lens. Thats the sole reason I bought this brass step up ring. The quality manufacturing is very good, its top notch. Buy this brass ring and unless you tear it up through carelessness, itll last you a lifetime! 5
