Related Questions and Answers

Q: 1. the 1.4x is to adjust for moving the length of the lense correct? i see a lot of huff saying the adaptor is adding a crop factor to their lenses but i thought it was an adjustment. i do believe there will be some light loss as well. is that correct?

A: The 1.4x lens is to achieve infinity focus and there is a 1.4x crop factor on a full frame camera. You will lose about 1-2 stops of light.

Q: 2. Why am I unable to fire the shutter on a Fuji X-Pro2 with this adapter and a 50mm Minolta MC macro lens?

A: The camera doesn't recognize that the adapter is mounted as there are no electronic contacts. First, enable the "shoot without lens’ option in the menu under ‘BUTTON/DIAL SETTING’ sub-menu in the setup menu.

Q: 3. Is there an adapter that allows connecting Canon EF lenses to Minolta SR body? I have a Minolta bellows that I would love to connect to my Canon 7D II. I guess I could use my existing Minolta lenses with it, but I have newer Canon lenses I would prefer to use.

A: Sorry there is no adapter for you to use your canon ef lenses to minolta sr mount

Q: 4. I have old Minolta at lenses(x700) looking for an adapter to canon EF mount! Please let me know what options do I have. Thanks

A: I bought the photodiox md to e.g. and works great. I have a set of lenses from Minolta xd7 and they get an awesome image quality.

Q: 5. Where its Made?

Q: 6. I have a vintage Minolta SRT 101 camera with a boatload of Minolta lenses. Is there an adaptor I can purchase to make them useable on a Cannon EOS Rebel T1 camera?

A: The FotodioX Pro Lens Mount Adapter for Minolta MD/MC/SR Lens to Canon EF-Mount Camera B&H # FOPCEAMMM would be your best bet to fit your Minolta lenses on the T1.

Q: 7. Came with zero documentation. Description says can remove corrector lens, but w/o exact instruction on how I wont. SO HOW? Or am I missing paperwork?

A: To remove the magnifying glass from the Fotodiox mount adapters, first one needs a marcofiber cloth or a lens tissue. With protective material, grip the glass firmly in one hand, and the adapter edge with the other hand. Then one needs to rotate the adapter clockwise, while holding the glass still. The ring has quite a few threads so it may take many turns before the magnifying glass separates from the adapter. Be careful because the magnifying glass consists of 3 sections. Put the parts in a safe place, because one may be interesting in putting the adapter back together again.

Q: 8. Why am I unable to fire the shutter on my X-Pro2 with this adapter and a 50mm Minolta MC macro lens?

A: The camera doesn't recognize that the adapter is mounted as there are no electronic contacts. First, enable the "shoot without lens’ option in the menu under ‘BUTTON/DIAL SETTING’ sub-menu in the setup menu.

Q: 9. Will this also work with a Minolta Rokkor PF lens?

A: Technically the FotodioX Mount Adapter for Minolta SR/MD/MC-Mount Lens to Fujifilm X-Mount Camera should work with most Minolta Rokkor PF lenses, That lens series is MD. But the manufacture of the adapter does not list what specific lenses work with it.

Q: 10. Does this work with analgic Minolta SR lenses to Sony E mount?

A: The FotodioX Mount Adapter for Minolta SR/MD/MC-Mount Lens to Sony E-Mount Camera does work with Minolta SR mount lenses

Great to be able to use my old Minolta lenses on my canon, I’m so happy it’s even an option! Would definitely recommend this adapter to those in a similar situation, it’s great to keep a good thing going.

Had a few pieces of old glass from my film days back in the 80's and 90's. The adapter allows me to use them with my digital camera (no autofocus, but I knew that when I purchased it). Nice addition to my working camera bag.

After building an extensive Minolta film system back in the 70's and 80's, when the digital age took over I got by with point and shoots and then a Nikon 1 kit. Now I have a Canon M50 and am able to use some great Minolta and Vivitar Series 1 prime lenses.
Fit and finish are excellent and it does support infinity focus. My Series 1 90mm f/2.5 macro is a joy to use in aperture priority with manual focus of course. So glad I never got rid of those oldies but goodies.
