This card is super fast and capable to write 1480MB/s wich handle all data transfer for the 1DXIII recording 5.5K RAW and 4K Raw 60fps. Absolutely recommended.

It blows my mind how fast data writes to the card and how fast data transfers to my computer.

I have not stressed this reader yet, but, so far, it is quick and reliable. Looking good.

True long term longevity remains to be seen, but initial impressions are that this is a very robustly built reader. The metal body seems to dissipate heat better than my plastic bodied Prograde reader. The cable setup is also interesting - while it uses a detachable USB-C cable the socket itself sits deeply recessed about an inch into the body, and the supplied cable slots neatly into the hole. My other USB-C cables do NOT fit in this hole, so beware the consequences of losing the official cable. Hopefully there are other 10 Gbps cables that will fit. This probably renders the USB-C connector largely unbreakable, but I wonder how the cable will hold up. Like with all readers and drives, I recommend unplugging the cable during transport.

All that said, the primary reason to buy this reader is arguably because it's mandatory to upgrade the firmware on Angelbird CFe cards. (Which are very attractively priced at the moment.) I tested this and while it's a bit annoying on Mac (requires a kernel extension which means security setting changes) my card didn't require an update so I can only assume it works properly.

The Angelbird CFexpress cards are such a good value, that I was willing to pay more for the companion card reader. So far, so good. No issues.

Great card, much prefer these to SD cards, much faster also like the fact the size makes them backward compatible with the xqd cards
