  • Availability: In Stock

$164.97 $219.41

The 46mm, 590nm Infrared Lens Filter from Kolari Vision blocks visible light up to 590nm from the light spectrum. This standard version of the filter features uncoated glass in an aluminum ring threaded on both sides. (The optional pro version has multicoated glass in a slim, knurled brass ring.)

This 590nm version requires a full spectrum modification to be made to your camera in order to function properly. This entails manually removing the camera's low-pass filter and replacing it with a clear filter. Once that's done, the filter will work as intended. (Kolari Vision can make the modification for you at a cost if you send in your camera to them.)

Related Questions and Answers

Q: 1. Can this be used with lensbaby composer pro ii?

A: Yes, I use these macro filters with my Composer Pro II & the Sweet 50 Optic.

Q: 2. Will this fit canon sx60 has?

A: No. The Canon SX60HS does not have any filter threads to attach a filter to, so no, this will not fit.

Q: 3. Is 46mm the diameter fit for the lens? So this would work on my XF 50mm F2?

A: Yes, it is indeed for the front diameter of the lens and not the focal length. This would be the correct lens cap for the XF 50mm f/2.0 R WR.

Q: 4. Where is this filter currently made: Japan or the Philippians (or elsewhere)?

A: This filter is made in Japan.

Q: 5. Would this work with a fine pix s1000fd?

A: According to their specs it says a 58mm lens cap would fit instead.

Q: 6. What is the difference between these and the extension kit that’s the same price?

A: Close up filters are easy to use, with no loss of light, but lose image quality, do not work well on wide angle lenses and you cannot focus at infinity. Extension tubes work well on wide to normal lenses and there is no lost in image quality. However, they do not work well on telephotos, you lose infinity, you lose light the longer they are, exposure can be trial and error, the build quality of the connection and any electronics can have an effect on usefulness.

Q: 7. Would this filter fit a Nikon Dx 35mm Lens?

A: The Nikon AF-S DX NIKKOR 35mm f/1.8G Lens has a 52mm filter thread, so will be compatible with the 52mm Ultraviolet UV (C) Haze Multicoated Filter.

Q: 8. Will this filter work on a Mirror lens?

A: Sorry, I don't know

Q: 9. this filter accepts a Hood?

A: The filter does have front threads to either stack filters or utilize a lens hood that would thread into the front of the filter.

Q: 10. What’s the difference between these and the extension kit at the same price?

A: The extension tube attaches between the camera and the lens and it has no optics , this will attach the same way as a filter and it has optics

I've used most the high end uv filters over the past 10 years. This one is by far the most crisp and clear I've used. If you're going to spend thousands on a nice lens, make sure you use the best filter and this is it

Great quality filter for a reasonable price vs. Leica.

I have three of the zeiss filters. 2 UV and 1 circular polarizer. All clear no distortion. I bought some cheap filters at the beginning of this photography journey and wasted cash. I look for high number of coatings, and high percentage of light transmission. 99 or better. Everyone loves my photos. That’s the most important.
Hope this helps.
