Take advantage of ProArt Preset to quick check different color spaces and ProArt Palette delivers flexible color adjustment. The 32" mini-LED backlit 4K panel offers higher luminance and deeper black hues for exceptional color contrast and accurate reproduction of HDR content. Factory pre-calibration ensures industry-leading color fidelity, and a wide color gamut and Delta E < 1 color difference ensures outstanding color accuracy.

Mini-LED backlight technology uses smaller LEDs to provide up to three times the number of LEDs, compared to a conventional panel of a similar size. The densely packed mini-LEDs enable increased granularity and brightness. Plus, individual backlight control across an astounding 576 zones ensures higher luminance and deep dark colors to deliver unmatched contrast and accurate reproduction of HDR content.

A peak of brightness of 1000 nits allows for outstanding contrast between the deepest blacks and gleaming whites, resulting in a rich and lifelike viewing experience.

Exclusive ASUS Smart HDR technology enables ProArt Display PA32UCR-K to support HLG and HDR-10 multiple HDR formats. HLG allows users to view and create material for broadcast and satellite TV platforms such as BBC iPlayer, Japan NHK TV, and DirecTV. HDR10 support ensures compatibility with existing streaming video services and growing list of HDR-enabled games.

ASUS ProArt Displays support multiple HDR-10 curves, including PQ Hard Clip, PQ Optimized and PQ Basic, which can cover all content creation needs. PQ Hard Clip preserves PQ curve until displaying maximum luminance with accuracy. Any luminance higher than display maximum will be mapped to display maximum. PQ optimized reproduces accurate gradations corresponding to maximum brightness of the monitor. Deliver the optimized HDR performance of this display. PQ basic presents general HDR performance.

Wide-viewing angle IPS with 1000 nits of peak brightness, supporting Quantum Dot technology provides an entire spectrum of colors to play with. Support 98% DCI-P3, 99.5% Adobe RGB, 100% sRGB, 100% Rec. 709, and 87% Rec.2020 color spaces for video editing and post-production.

ASUS ProArt Calibration technology saves all color parameters profiles on the ProArt monitor's internal scaler IC chip, instead of on the computer. The saved profiles can be easily activated via the hotkey on the monitor. The monitor can be calibrated, and the look-up table subsequently rewritten, allowing users to connect it to devices with different operating systems or applications without needing to adjust settings. Signal distortion between the IC and the LCD optical spectrum is also reduced.

Integrated ASUS ProArt Calibration 2.0 enables swift and easy adjustments to maintain the color accuracy of ASUS ProArt monitors. It offers SDR and HDR calibration with adjustable brightness, color gamut, color temperature, and other parameters to ensure consistent and precise colors.

ProArt displays are compatible with the most major calibrators, including those from X-Rite, Datacolor, and Klein. They also work seamlessly with Calman and Light Illusion ColourSpace CMS professional hardware calibration software for fast, easy calibration.

HDMI(v2.0) x 3, DisplayPort 1.2, Full Function USB Type-C, and a USB hub enable convenient connections to a desktop, Blu-ray player, control panel, or additional display with zero hassle. The integrated USB-C port supports data transfers, DisplayPort signal, and also support 80W power delivery.

With Picture-by-Picture (PbP), view two to four different settings simultaneously by placing multiple input sources onscreen side-by-side; and configure each individual window's color settings with sRGB, Adobe RGB, DCI-P3, Rec. 2020, User Mode 1, or User Mode 2. With Picture-in-Picture mode, you can easily place your second input source in a window in one corner of the display.

A comfortable viewing position is always easy to achieve with ASUS ProArt Display. With an ergonomically designed stand with tilt, swivel, pivot, and height adjustments to provide comfortable viewing and usage experiences. The ability to pivot the screen clockwise or counterclockwise 90° for use in portrait mode comes in handy when working with long documents, coding, or website browsing. Furthermore, the VESA wall-mountable to save on desktop space.

ASUS Flicker-Free technology ensures a more comfortable viewing experience by reducing on-screen flicker to minimize eye strain, headaches, and eye fatigue that can occur when spending long hours in front of a display. Exclusive ASUS Ultra-Low Blue Light technology protects your eyes from harmful blue light emissions with four blue-light filter settings that are easily accessed through the on-screen menu via the hotkey.

Related Questions and Answers

Q: 1. How tall is this at the lowest setting on the stand?

A: ASUS has not stated what the height is at lowest setting. They have only supplied one height measurement plus the adjustment range (5.1") of the ProArt Display PA279CRV 27" 4K HDR Monitor. Generally the height listed is the lowest setting in a situation like this, which would mean that this monitor is 21.2" at lowest height with the included stand.

Q: 2. This or BenQ SW321C, which one is better for video editing?

A: Both of the displays you mentioned are great for professional video editing, offering excellent brightness, contrast, and resolution. At 98% coverage of the DCI-P3 color gamut, I would recommend the ASUS ProArt PA32UCRK 32" 4K HDR Monitor over the BenQ model you asked about, which covers 95% of that color space.

Q: 3. Is size the only difference between this 32inch model and the ASUS ProArt Display PA27UCX-K 27" 16:9 4K HDR IPS Monitor ?

A: The 27" can also reach 1000 nits peak brightness whereas the 32" can only reach 600 nits.

Q: 4. Can I buy this monitor without the X-Rite calibration device? I already own multiple calibration devices.

A: No, it is only sold including the X-Rite calibrator.

Q: 5. does the ASUS ProArt Display PA32UCXR have sdi?

A: The ASUS ProArt Display PA32UCXR 32" 4K HDR Monitor (B&H # ASPA32UCXR) does not have a SDI port.

Q: 6. do the ports on this monitor really support display HDR 1000? I heard that DP 1.2 and HDMI 2.0 do not support HDR at all.

A: This monitor is HDR-10.

Q: 7. Can I use the X-rite i1 Display Pro that comes with this monitor to calibrate other Asus ProArt monitors?

A: Yes, the X-rite i1 Display Pro can be used with many other monitors besides the ASUS ProArt PA32UCRK 32" 4K HDR Monitor.

Q: 8. Just to confirm, this has to be a computer connection, correct? You can't connect a camera or switcher via SDI directly?

A: A computer monitor like the ASUS ProArt Display PA24US 23.6" 4K HDR Monitor does not necessarily have to be connected to a computer; any video source with the correct connection will work.

Q: 9. Why doesn't this have Display Port 1.4?

A: There is no advantage for Display Port 1.4 on this 4K monitor.

Q: 10. Hi ! So how is it really? Is this monitor 8bit + FRC or treally true 10 bit , please help!

A: The ASUS ProArt Display PA329CRV 31.5" 4K HDR Monitor is 8-Bit + FRC.

All the tools I need for work on media content in one monitor. Workflow just got SO much easier!! Love the ability to move between RGB, Rec 709 and more. And the size, the color, the clarity...stunning! I considered lesser priced monitors but they didn't have the color quality spec. This has it! Would buy again without a question!!

I was looking for a monitor with critical color accuracy (Adobe RGB, sRGB) and am completely happy with this, my second Asus monitor. I have found them to have excellent color and performance for a very reasonable price. I use it every day for creating color accurate graphic design, and it has been very reliable.

This monitor offers calibrated HDR with peak brightness up to 1600 nits in my measurements, well over the advertised 1000. The included colorimeter + hardware calibration offer great results (similar calibration of HDR via ICC profile is not yet possible, so this is a very important feature for an HDR monitor. And the stand is very nice.

The key downside (as noted by others) is the quality of local dimming when viewing dark solid areas. The out of the box results are pretty bad, but you can substantially mitigate this by adjusting backlight settings (https://gregbenzphotography.com/review-best-hdr-monitor-for-photography/). The adjusted results do not fully eliminate the problem, but it is very slight and I think most people will be fine with it. You can also eliminate it in SDR mode by disabling dynamic dimming.

If you print professionally or are the kind of person who's spend a couple grand on an SDR display, this probably isn't the monitor for you (the new PA32UCXR is definitely an upgrade to consider over this). But it's a great choice for a lot of people looking to get into HDR photography. I can't think of another monitor offering this much HDR headroom and accuracy at a similar price point.
