Related Questions and Answers

Q: 1. What is the thread size? What is the depth of of the female thread?

A: The only female thread on this item is that of the screw-down mechanism (thumb screw) mentioned in the overview and clearly pictured. Those threads are M6x1.0 and about 17mm deep. They extend to the large central hole at the center of the cylinder but the end of the thumb screw does not bear directly against the boom arm. It instead bears against a plastic liner pressed into that central hole which prevents scratching the finish of the boom arm.

Q: 2. Can this be used to mount a small camera? What's the weight capacity of this arm?

A: The arm would be used with microphones less than 2 lbs in weight. Be aware that the threading is 5/8"-27. Use this adapter: WindTech M19 5/8"-27 Female to 1/4"-20 Male Adapter BH #WIM8219: https://bhpho.to/2w6kEs5

Q: 3. Regarding the 48" Boom Arm. Is each section or arm 48" long or is that the total length?

A: The total length of the MBA48 boom arm is 48".

Q: 4. What is the inside diameter of the hole through the counterweight or equivalently the outside diameter of the boom arm this is designed to slide over ?

A: The K&M 21105 Counter Weight is designed for use on one-piece K&M boom arms with a 3/8" male thread or a tube diameter 0.6" (15mm). The Counter Weight itself is made of steel, has a height of 2.36" (60mm), a diameter of 1.97" (50mm), and weighs 28.2 oz. (0.8 kg).

Q: 5. What is the diameter of the flange mount?

A: We have requested this information from the manufacturer but accurate measurements are not readily available. We will post the details once we receive them.

Q: 6. Will c-clamp fit 4 cm thick table?

A: The c-clamp will fit a 4cm thick table.

Q: 7. Would this be suitable for teaching an online movement class (without complex movements)?

A: The microphone works well. Nevertheless I found the cord to be a problem in close spaces due to tangling. I then purchased a Rode Go wireless mic from B&H. That has worked well.

Q: 8. What is the max mic weight this can handle?

A: This product has a 5 lb. maximum weight capacity.

Q: 9. Will this work with a USB-A to USB-C adapter, hoping to use for Zoom calls on a new MacBook Pro?

A: Yes this Saramonic R=SR- ULM10 mic will work if your mac has type A or type C usb, if your mac has type C usb get yourself a type A female to type C male adapter..

Q: 10. How does the quality of this compare to the Rode PSA1?

A: The quality of this studio boom arm would be similar to the Rode PSA1 Studio Boom Arm for Broadcast Microphones, BH #ROPSA1, but it has a shorter reach of 28-inches fully extended.
