Gorgeous semi-matte paper. I've been using the Innova Fiba-print White Gloss (f-type surface) as my #1 fine-art paper because it replicates the great air-dried semi-gloss fiber-based darkroom papers of old, but I just tried this Innova semi-matte and was bowled over at how rich and gorgeous it prints up in B&W on my Epson R-3880 with its K3 inks. The look is something like the Old Agfa Portriga Rapid paper. The surface is not a dry matte, but rather a hard satin matte with a very subtle texture. This combination gives the print a quality, richness, and elegance that's hard to get elsewhere. What's more, what you see in the photo remains the same from all viewing angles. There's no annoying light reflection off the surface when viewed from the sides (so keep this in mind for your gallery prints). In any case, when you want to retain the richness of the semi-gloss... but in a matte surface, this is the paper to use. It does use the Epson Photo Black ink and works well with the semi-gloss or lustre setting. Very fine product by Innova and well worth the price!

I use this paper to print photo images for exhibition. The finish is just what I want; beautiful photos print beautifully. I wish there were a watermark on the back to make it easier to identify the print side but after a while choosing the correct side to print becomes second nature.

This beautiful semi-matte paper has a soft finish to the eye, my strong personal preference. But I also wanted a maximal black density, and tried this at the recommendation of an expert, using photo-black .icc profiles. I have been more than satisfied, with a great color spectrum and dense, rich blacks. The semi-gloss finish of all the Barytas is not to my personal taste, and many mattes seem to slightly muddier in final appearance, so I was delighted to find this alternative. Beats Red River Matte, Ilford gold fiber silk and Hahnemuhle rag in my opinion. And the price is reasonable.

Innova paper produces exceptional products that are consistently excellent and as far as I know not available from any third party repackagers.


Among the Editions line of professional papers, the Innova Etching Cotton Rag using the Innova ICC profiles on my Epson P 800 produces prints with excellent color separation andDMax. The slight surface texture is perfect. Along with the Innova Fabriano Artistico type 107 which is more textured and to me slightly warmer one has access to two of the best matte papers available.


I use both papers consistently and find that these two papers are among the matte papers that I will reach for first when I desire to make a print for sale or to offer as a gift.

In my current gallery show I have 22 13x19 prints using this paper. One art critic from a local paper would not accept that these were photographs, not paintings. Others made similar comments. The paper provided the perfect media for prints; the color was crisp and the detail was extraordinary! Color matching from monitor to paper was easily obtained.

A unique finish combining the depth of semi-gloss or satin finished papers with a near-Matte sheen. Terrific for portraits and any B&W. Great depth of blacks/DMax. I have not seen the edge curl on this size sheet as I have and others have commented on, with the smaller size sheets.

I print my artwork on this paper using my Epson sure color p900. Color is true.

This paper produce very special photographic high quality prints. The thickness of the paper is very important and thick. It is my choice for archival photographic prints with a non glossy surface.
