Related Questions and Answers

Q: 1. What do I need to use the included IR remote?

A: The KanexPro 3x1 HDMI Switcher with 4K Support comes with everything needed to operate the included IR remote.

Q: 2. I would need this specifically to send the HDMI output of a camera through a switcher to a live projector during a ceremony. The switcher would also have a laptop input. Will this unit support the transfer of the live video signal under these conditions?

A: Yes it will up to about 150 feet

Q: 3. Is there a delay between switching inputs? I want to use this as a video switcher for a livestream and a lot have a black screen for a few seconds while switching sources.

A: Yes, there is a delay consisting of a few seconds when switching between sources. Additionally, you must scroll through the sources (you can not jump from source 1 to source 4 in a one-click/button fashion. I use this device in front of a professional HDMI switcher (Roland V1-HD) if more than 4 cameras are required and a delay can be allowed between transitions of cameras behind the 5in1 (while the transition delay is occurring another camera from the remaining three HDMI ports is on.)- Jack

Q: 4. Will it send audio through the HDMI out and through the TOSLINK/3.5mm outputs at the same time?

A: Yes, you will be able to send audio through the HDMi outputs and separate 3.5mm & Toslink audio outputs.

Q: 5. Can you switch the inputs at the box? Can you see which input is selected on the front panel? (There is no photo of the front panel)

A: Yes, you can. Or I prefer to use the IR remote. And I know that 1 is the cable TV and 2 is the computer so I don't ever need to look. But there is a blue LED light on the top of the switch that lights up next to whichever switch is activated.

Q: 6. Can it be set to always switch manually? I don't want it to switch automatically when a new source is connected. But I don't want to have to set this option every time I use it... How does it work?

A: hi from remote control can not change.i now if you off source 1 it will go to souce 2 auto

Q: 7. We need to run new cable for this installation (remote camera). Will this work with Cat7 cable?

A: It is rated for Cat6/6a only. They will not support Cat 7 specifications

Q: 8. Is the remote IR or RF? If IR is there a jack for remote IR sensor?

A: This products uses an included IR remote. It also includes an IR sensor with a cable.

Q: 9. Is there any sort of a delay from transmit to receive? I used other brands as a way to extend a computer monitor and had horrible lag. What is the lag like with this device?

A: This has a very low latency.

Q: 10. Does this have all 5 inputs on the back (as shown on the manufacturer site) or is one on the front?

A: I/O;Five HDMI inputsOne HDMI output
