Related Questions and Answers

Q: 1. Is this battery operated with no wires required?

A: No, it needs to be plugged in to operate.

Q: 2. Could I use 100-200 of these receivers with one transmitter?

A: Being that one universe of DMX is comprised of 512 channels, you could use that amount of receivers. However, this would also be dependent on the fixtures you're connecting, where one fixture can take up multiple channels to control color, motion or dimming.

Q: 3. All the promo pictures show it in use without power plugged in. Doesn't it need a power source which is why it includes adapter?

A: The Blizzard wiCICLE Skywire Wireless DMX Receiver (B&H# BLWICICLESKY) can use the included AC adapter for power, yes, but it can alternatively draw power from wiCICLE Enabled fixtures and other so-labeled equipment.

Q: 4. I have two instruments and I want them to do the exact same thing. Both instruments have DMX IN and DMX OUT jacks. Is it possible to plug a WICICLE receiver into one of the instruments and daisy chain that unit to the other one, instead of buying a separate receiver for each of them?

A: Yes it is possible to connect one light with the receiver and daisy chain to another light using a cable.

Q: 5. Can I run a DMX cable from the fixture that has the wireless receiver attached to it to another fixture and another each with a different address the same as I would with a hard wire cable to the first fixture from my controller?

A: According to Blizzard Lighting, you would be able to run a DMX cable from a fixture which has a wireless receiver attached to another fixture with a different address just as you would with a hard wired connection.

Q: 6. Will this work with the ARRI Skypanel?

A: This does work great with the skypanels. I added the Star tech USB to Type H barrel to power off the USB port on the Sky panels. Make sure your USB is in normal not service mode on the head. These units operate on 5vdc so no trasformer needed. I have had 2 out of 20 units with bad solder joints. Easy fix. They seem to be very noise free in many envoirments. I have used to about 100m without issues. Instant response time for hot cue also. Hope this helps.

Q: 7. Can this version of the nest work with a dual fuel (gas and heat pump) forced air furnace?

A: Yes it will. But per Google: Your system requires advanced configuration and wiring. If you have one of these systems, contact a local pro. Important: Professional installation is recommended for some systems since their wiring and setup can be complicated. These include: Dual fuel systems (heat pump with furnace) Dual transformer systems (Systems that have more than one R wire) Whole-home humidifiers and dehumidifiers (compatible with Nest Learning Thermostat only) https://bit.ly/3tQsn6k

Q: 8. Is the LED bar able to be rotated 90 degrees on its brackets if I need to adjust the angle?

A: You can rotate the light to adjust the wash angle.

Q: 9. Will these work with Chauvet instruments?

A: This can be used on a variety of DMX capable items.

Q: 10. I want a fan that'll blow hair for indoor studio photography. Is this fan going to do that for me?

A: The Antari AF-4 Special Effects Fan, BH # ANAF4R would be a more powerful fan you could use for your application. https://bhpho.to/3v3i1Sd

I have owned Blizzard lighting in the past and although I don't use their lighting fixtures I DO use their wiCicle Transmitters to connect my lighting software dongle to my lighting fixtures. I have tried many of the cheaper versions available on Amazon and elsewhere only to find out that they don't have a reliable and steady connection to the fixtures. The official Blizzard wiCICLE transmitters seem to communicate better and last longer. Yes they too are made in China but perhaps with some better components. They also made an improvement when changing the color frequency it is now a button rather than having to take a paperclip or bobby pin in the hole. I hope this helps!

I was amazed at how bright this small fixture was. Well constructed. The color mixing was better than expected.

I do weddings and corporate events, and I could not be happier with these lights. As far as set-up goes, these could not be easier, as I just place these where ever I want in the room (uplighting, wall/ceiling, centerpiece, whatever), and since they are wireless AND battery, it's super fast and easy. Plus, these things have an incredible amount of light output for their size. The batteries last a LONG time (I have run these over ten hours, and they still had juice left). Build quality is excellent and well worth the money. One small complaint is that one of the black knobs on the yoke section broke (still usable), but I called Blizzard and they sent me TWO replacement knobs just in case I had an issue with one of the other lights (I have 8 of these and I am looking to get more).
