The Fresnel 1000 Bi-Color LED Light from Dracast is packed with the latest LED technology backed with solid construction and intuitive design. Instead of using filters, the Fresnel 1000 can vary the color balance from 3200-5600K or anywhere between with the turn of a knob. Dimming from 10-100% is equally straightforward and both adjustments can be done locally on the unit or remotely via DMX.

The Fresnel 1000 outputs the equivalent of a 1000W tungsten halogen Fresnel while running cool to the touch and consuming a fraction of the power, resulting in lower HVAC running costs in the studio and a quick return on your investment. The light ships with a 100-240 VAC power adapter for worldwide use and, with an optional adapter, it also runs on 24 VDC in locations where mains power is unavailable. The Fresnel 1000 comes with a 5/8" receiver for hanging or stand mounting.

Related Questions and Answers

Q: 1. Can the Dracast Complete Remote Newsroom come with LED2000 Bi light and LED1000 Panels with V mount. Also is there a traveling case for this kit?

A: The LED2000 Fresnel can work with the Dracast Battery Extender, BH #DRBD4BS which connects to the 3 pin 24V connection on the back of the light and allows for the use of 4 V mount batteries at once. The LED1000 panels have a Gold Mount plate, which can accept an adapter such as the Core SWX AG-PS Gold Mount to V-Mount Adapter Plate with D-Tap, BH # COAGPS so you can use V mount batteries. This kit is meant for studio use, so there is no specific case to hold all of the gear. This would involve getting separate cases for each fixture and the stands. https://bhpho.to/2Q1iIrq https://bhpho.to/2Y7zxp4

Q: 2. Is this dimension with yoke?

A: Thank you to Jonathan for answering this very well. --- Also, if there are any other technical or product related questions, feel free to contact us directly at any time at info@dracobroadcast.com.

Q: 3. The Pictures show this product with the barndoors, but in description or in the box section do not say anything about the barndoors being included. Are they included or need to purchase separately?

A: Unfortunately, no, the Dracast LED1000 Plus Series Daylight LED Light does not include the barndoors; they are an optional accessory. If you need the pictured barndoors, the Dracast Barndoors for LED1000, B&H # DRBD1000, may be purchased separately.

Q: 4. Hi. I'm trying to decide between this, the Ikan 1024, or the Aputure LS 1c. The concern I have with this design and the Ikan is how the battery is mounted to the back of the light. Has anyone had issues with the yoke or using it up high or with a c-stand?

A: The power source/battery being separate from the light fixture is nice, but the same can be accomplished with a VariZoom S7101 4-Pin XLR to D-Tap Adapter Cable (a href= http://www.bhphotovideo.com/c/product/379251-REG/VariZoom_S_7101_S7101_4_Pin_XLR_to.html target= _blank http://www.bhphotovideo.com/c/product/379251-REG/VariZoom_S_7101_S7101_4_Pin_XLR_to.html/a) although the V-mount battery placement should not bump into the yoke, but it does add weight. Not a problem for a C stand. I have even used it on a boom pole with adequate sandbag weight. The Dracast is superior to the other LED square panels (CRI, light output, build quality), but like all of these types of 1 x 1 lights you will need diffusion or your talent will see spots and you will get multiple shadows. Chimera makes a great softbox for Dracast/Flolight 1 x 1 Chimera LED Lightbank although a little pricey (a href= http://www.bhphotovideo.com/c/product/869328-REG/Chimera_1670_LED_Lightbank_for_Flolight.html target= _blank http://www.bhphotovideo.com/c/product/869328-REG/Chimera_1670_LED_Lightbank_for_Flolight.html/a) and it will reduce the light output by about half, but makes for very pleasing light. Another advantage is that Dracast includes a free $200 battery, which is well worth it and helps to cover much of the cost of the softbox. However, the best light (size, weight, output, bi-color, focus-able, CRI, remote control via Bluetooth, etc.) would be the Kinotehnik Practilite 602 Smart LED Fresnel (a href= http://www.bhphotovideo.com/c/product/1208021-REG/kinotehnik_pract602_practilite_602_smart_led.html target= _blank http://www.bhphotovideo.com/c/product/1208021-REG/kinotehnik_pract602_practilite_602_smart_led.html/a), which is what I would recommend and I own both lights. 4 universal speed rings allow adding softboxes, but you really wont need them in most cases with this pleasing light. They give you a lot more control where the light is going unlike the Dracast and the Fresnel lens blends two or more lights together very well. I own 2 and when I can afford it. I will buy another one. I hope this helps.

Q: 5. What is the weight of the case with all its components inside?

A: The kit weighs approximately 55 lbs.

Q: 6. I have decided to buy this 1000 plus daylight fixture or the corresponding 1000 plus bi-color fixture. Traditional thought is to go with daylight because you lose half the LED's on the bi-color and bi-color is not necessary because you can use Gels and or adjust camera settings. However, since the 1000 plus is so powerful, I will essentially have a 500 daylight and a 500 LED tungsten which seems to plenty of brightness so I'm now considering bucking conventional wisdom and going with the bi-color. Just by reviews alone it appears as though the daylight is twice as popular. However, it's my understanding that the bi-color just recently came out which may skew the results. I'm an amateur videographer/photographer so need all the help I can get. Hence, for general all-around use would you go with the daylight or the bi-color? Thanks in advance! John

A: John, It sounds like you don't really need the full power of the LED 1000, as you mention the equivalence to two LED 500 units. That being the case, I would say that, for you, the bi-color would be the best option. // Also, if there are any other technical or product related questions, feel free to contact us directly at any time at support@dracobroadcast.com.

Q: 7. Is the light output of this comparable to a traditional 1K Tungsten light?

A: No. The output would be more comparable to a traditional 450 Watt tungsten light. // Also, if there are any other technical or product related questions, feel free to contact us directly at any time at support@dracobroadcast.com.

Q: 8. Are batteries included with this set?

A: The kit comes with one LED160AB light and two LED500B lights. The kit comes with one L battery and charger for the LED160AB light. That is the smaller one in the kit. The other lights use Gold Mount batteries which are not included and are larger capacity. This is a link of one of many batteries and a charger that can work a href= http://bhpho.to/1aVkALP target= _blank http://bhpho.to/1aVkALP/a and a href= http://bhpho.to/1x73Iq0 target= _blank http://bhpho.to/1x73Iq0./a

Q: 9. Does this dim from o%-100% with DMX or does it not turn off with DMX like some other panels?

A: According to Dracast, yes, the Dracast LED1000-DX Studio Daylight LED Light with DMX is able to dim all the way from 100% intensity to 0% intensity when using DMX remote control.

Q: 10. Can anyone recommend some good diffusion options for these? I recently purchased a few to replace my current kit, and im noticing they are a good deal harsher then what I had (my old kit had some fairly nice soft boxes). Iv heard bad reviews on the dracast soft box, and im currently using diffusion gels. Id appreciate any solutions!

A: The softbox for the LED500 Pro works very well, and we also have diffusion filters available here: a href= https://www.dracobroadcast.com/store/p152/Dracast_Filter_Set_for_LED500.html target= _blank https://www.dracobroadcast.com/store/p152/Dracast_Filter_Set_for_LED500.html/a // Also, if there are any other technical or product related questions, feel free to contact us directly at any time at support@dracobroadcast.com.
