Q: 1. Can this lens be used with a NIKON D90 , and use all the F stops?. Electronic focus?

A: per NikonUSAThe lens incorporates an electromagnetic diaphragm mechanism. Q: 2. Is this lens weather-sealed?

A: Yes, it is, it has the rubber gasket around the mount. It is a great lens, extremely sharp and very versatile.

Q: 3. Does the replace the Nikon 135mm?

A: The Nikon AF-S NIKKOR 105mm f/1.4E ED Lens is a similar focal length to the Nikon 135mm lens; it doesn't replace it, it's just a different focal length.

Q: 4. The specs for the Nikon 24 mm f/1.8G lens say the filter thread is 72 mm x 0.75 mm pitch. Most filter designations don't add a pitch. What does this mean? Will it take a normal 72 mm filter/step-up ring/step-down ring or is something additional required?

A: As far as I know, the filter is standard and have had no problems with any off the shelf filters. I also use the hood, with the filter, that came with the lens. I find the lens to be very sharp. It is slightly heavy but that is to be expected. As expected, I keep a UV filter on at all times, usually made by Hoya. I display my photos on a Sony 65 Inch Ultra High 4K TV screen. I use the 24mm Nikkor on the Nikon 5500 so it acts as if it were a 36mm on a full frame. Hope this helps.

Q: 5. Has anyone used this lens for night photography, star trails, night painting, and such?

A: It is a great lens for night photography and being able to shoot wide open makes the stars pop

Q: 7. I was wondering if this lens is compatible with the 3 different Nikon Teleconvertor's 1.4 1.7 2.0 Thank You!

A: I do not use teleconverters, but I don't see why it would not be compatible. Keep in mind if you're using a crop sensor camera, you would already be getting the benefit of the 1.5X factor.

Q: 8. How does this lens compare to the Nikon AF DC-Nikkor 105 mm F/2D Lens?

A: At the same apertures, it performs just very slightly better than the DC, but almost the same. If images are produced by skilled shooters, you'd be hard-pressed to tell the difference in a blind test at the same apertures. Of course the new lens goes to f/1.4 where the depth of field effect is dramatic, which is the main selling point. The new lens has slightly more distortion but less flare and CA owing to better coatings. The new lens does not have a DC control ring to manipulate bokeh. The new lens does not have an aperture ring, unlike the DC-Nikkor, so it is practically worthless for classic Nikon SLRs. The new lens is light and plasticky feeling, unlike the older solid metal and glass crinkle-coated DC-Nikkor. The new lens has a AF-S in-lens motor, which will burn out after some years and will render it a manual focus lens when Nikon decides to stop making replacement motors, as they have already done for other top-of-the-line AF-S lenses...whereas the 105/2DC with screwdriver AF will still be working just fine a hundred years from now.

Q: 9. Does it work with a F4 body?

A: It will attach and focus but you will not have the ability to adjust the aperture directly. You can shoot in shutter priority mode and the camera will adjust the aperture when the shutter speed is selected. You can also shoot in auto mode.

Q: 10. Would nisi filter system work well with this wide angle?

A: Yes, Nisi filter system will work well with the Nikon AF-S NIKKOR 20mm f/1.8G ED Lens.
