Using for landscape mostly up to this point and it is very nice. Autofocus is not so hot in low light, but that was not unexpected with this lens, so no surprise there. Looking forward to doing some more people shooting as the weather warms up. With good separation of subject from background, the bokeh is very nice. A real easy way to get into working in this focal range. 5

i needed to go wide for a few shots in crowded spaces and this lens fit my criteria: Nikon quality, sharp, flexible/multi-use, low investment, USA warranty. I actually purchased my first SLR camera from B&H exactly 40-years ago (Minolta SRT-101 with a 50mm 1.4). Go with mainstream equipment and business partners that you can trust ( I AM endorsing B&H but have not been paid or asked to do so. B&H has been consistent for selection and service; they always have choices and reviews that I appreciate.) 5

I absolutely love me new lens, the whole reason for the purchase was because i had the lens that ranged from 55mm - 200mm. I have a newborn and it nearly made it impossible to take any pictures of him with it becasue you had to stand so far back just to get 1 picture. my new lens lets me be within a foot of him and capture amazing pictures. This turned out to be a good purchase for me. I took it with me to the Zoo for some quick shots and the pictures zoomed in without loosing any of the quality. I did not use any of the manual setting for it yet (except focus - once), but that being said the pictures turned out pretty good. One of the things I did have to do was to turn off the Auto Focus to focus past some of the cages. A minor inconvenience, but otherwise pretty simple to make that adjustment. 5

I received this lens as a gift and love it. It goes perfectly with my 18-55mm lens that I got with my camera. It takes really nice photos and the zoom on it is incredible. The only downside is that it can be a bit slow at times. Other than that I would recommend it to any beginning or intermediate photographer. 5
