Designed for up to 8K cine-style image capture and covering up to full-frame size sensors, the PL-mount 11mm T4.3 Cine Lens from IRIX incorporates multiple internal and external design features. This 11mm lens will produce a classic wide-angle look or up to a 123° viewing angle in the 2.39:1 widescreen format, depending on your camera's sensor. External features include a 95mm front diameter, 0.8 MOD gears, luminous focus marks in feet, and a detachable 1/4"-20 support foot.

Internally, nine blades produce smooth, rounded bokeh and four seals protect against inclement weather and dust. To help eliminate aberrations and distortion, the IRIX 11mm T4.3 Cine Lens is constructed with 16 optical elements in 10 groups, including four HR (high refractive index) and two ED (extra-low dispersion) elements. A Multi-Start Thread focusing mechanism delivers quiet, precise focusing even in wet or humid conditions or in extreme temperatures. This lens has 180° of focus and 75° of iris rotation, an 86mm front filter thread, and includes front and rear caps.

The IRIX Cine 11mm is a wide 43.3mm full-frame lens that uses 16 optical elements, including four high refractive index (HRI) and two extra low-dispersion glass (ED) elements, to create crisp cinematic shots in resolutions up to 8K while keeping the focus breathing at a minimum. This lens features a relatively fast T4.3 maximum aperture and can be stopped down to T22.

Related Questions and Answers

Q: 1. Is this lens available with imperial markings?

A: We're afraid not. We only have this lens available with markings in meters at this time.

Q: 2. What is the difference between extreme and production sets?

A: The lens themselves two different type of focal lengths. IRIX Cine Extreme Set (11/21/30/45/150mm IRIX Cine Production Set (15/21/30/45/150mm

Q: 3. Can this be used for video?

A: Yes the IRIX 150mm f/2.8 Macro 1:1 Lens for Canon EF can be used for video.

Q: 4. Is the foot on the collar arca swiss compatible?

A: Yes this lens has an Arca-type compatible foot

Q: 5. Is there any advantage to using PL over EF mount for use on a Canon C500 mkii?

A: PL tends to be a stronger locking connection over EF. Also, the Canon C500 camera has a PL mount version that may require you to work with PL lenses.

Q: 6. Will Irix release L, Z, and RF mount lenses in their regular photography line of lenses?

A: We have not heard of any imminent plans for those particular lens mount options.

Q: 7. So, has this been updated to work on Arri and Sony PL mounts? Reviews here say it won't work on either.

A: There is no difference between the PL mount on an ARRI or SONY camera, so if this is not mounting properly or not at all, there may be a manufacturing issue, but this is not something we have seen before these occurrences referenced here.

Q: 8. Will the lens' "adaptive" focus ring work with my Lumix S1's auto-focus or do I need a compatible follow focusing system?

A: The IRIX 150mm T3.0 Telephoto Cine Lens has no electronic communications with a camera body and requires a focus system to be in place for focusing.

Q: 9. Do these no longer communicate EXIF data as with the original Irix lenses?

A: Yes, the lens offer fully manual focus but with electronic iris control and metadata.

Q: 10. How much lens breathing occurs with this lens?

A: The lens breathing on this product should be almost imperceptible, as it has been designed with the specific "cine" lens characteristics that keep lens breathing to a minimum, if not entirely absent.
