Related Questions and Answers

Q: 1. Will this fit my 24-70mm lens?

A: It should, since it's 82 mm.

Q: 2. does this fit Olympus tough TG5 ?

A: Yes, it does. But you have to buy the Olympus CLA-T01 adaptor in order mount the filter. This is the same adaptor that is used to mount the Olympus wide-angle and telephoto extender lenses on the camera.

Q: 3. Hello!Could you please tell me if this filter is compatible with this lens: http://www.bhphotovideo.com/c/product/892390-REG/Sony_selp1650_16_50mm_F_3_5_5_6_Power_Zoom.htmlThank you!

A: Yes, the Hoya 40.5mm NXT Circular Polarizer is compatible with the Sony 16-50mm f/3.5-5.6 lens.

Q: 4. Does is it fits the canon RF 100-500mm ?

A: The Hoya 77mm NXT Plus Circular Polarizer Filter does fit the Canon RF 100-500mm f/4.5-7.1 L IS USM Lens.

Q: 5. Does this filter rotate?

A: Yes, the circular polarizer rotates. it enable you to add contrast to colors outdoors, and remove the majority of unwanted reflections form non-metallic surfaces such as water or windows. Keep in mind that if you have a powerful light source 9such as the sun) in the frame, it will eliminate any polarization effects.

Q: 6. Is this a thin filter? What is the thickness of it?

A: Although Hoya does not publish the thickness of the NXT Plus Circular Polarizer, it would not be the thinnest option from Hoya. You may want to look to the Hoya 72mm HD3 Circular Polarizer Filter, BH # HOCPHD372 which is less likely to cause vignetting on wide-angle lenses. https://bhpho.to/3LXhNmp

Q: 7. Does Hoya manufacture this Circular Polarizer in a 95mm filter size?

A: Not currently, but they do have a 95mm Circular Polarizer Filter. Hoya 95mm Circular Polarizer Filter (BH #HOCP95 • MFR #B-95CRPL-GB)

Q: 8. Is this non-coated filter really worth $93.90 when there are so many other options out there?

A: The quality of the glass and the coatings of this filter are superior to many lower cost filters, if you have an expensive lens and or good optical quality, yes it is worth it.

Q: 9. Will i be able to use this filter with my Canon EF 16-35mm F/4L IS USM ultra wide angle lens and will my auto focus still work with it? Sorry but I'm a true amateur. Thanks

A: If your lens takes a 77m yes you can use this filter and you should not get any issue with the AF using a CPL with a wide angle lens. I have read that you get autofocus and underexpose issues when you use a linear polariser. However I haven't experienced this since i don't use linear polarisers.

Q: 10. Is it normal for a circular polarizer to have movement once attached to the lens?

A: Define movement. It screws on and that should be tight (no movement). The filter itself turns to orient the angle of the polarization (as opposed to a non circular polarizing filter which only really works when shooting in landscape mode)

A great Circular Polarizer II Filter from Nikon. This filter is very slim and allow you to still use the lens cap with out problems. Plus is multi coated

I am a newbie, so take what I say with a grain of salt! It works great and does what it's supposed to (rich blue skies, etc.)

I use this in bright sunlight or when I want to capture a certain mood. It adjusts easily to increase or decrease the polarization. I do have a bit of a problem attaching it: just when I think it's on straight and the threads aligned I find it is going on crooked and I have to back off and begin again. Not sure why the threads don't lock into the correct place more easily, however, this would not affect my decision to re-purchase this same item.

Fits smoothly onto the lens of my Nikon. Very easy to see what kind of shot you are getting when you adjust the filter. Just follow the common guidelines concerning f stops when using a polarizing filter and the shots come out great. Very well built, the kind of quality you would expect from Nikon.

Nice and thin. Will get one for my other lens as well.

I needed a new Circ. Polarizer for a recently acquired WA lens for my D7000. I purchased this Nikon Circ. Pol. because of its thinness and the expected high quality of the Nikon glass. I was not disappointed. The glass is of high quality, the sky is evenly darkened during use and in spite of a large hood and the thin construction I can still easily turn the polarizer when in use. Moreover the hood still fits onto the lens with the Polarizer attached. I am very pleased with this expensive but high quality 77mm Nikon Polarizer and would recommend it to anyone, especially if using a wide-angle lens.

I'm the textbook definition of an amateur, but I've loved this so far. I don't have anything to compare it to, but I have no glare on my photos, and colors such as skies and grasses are much richer.
