The UA23X7.6BERD-S10 4K Premier Tele Lens with Full Servo and 2x Extender from Fujinon is a 7.6 to 175mm servo zoom lens designed to provide 4K+ compatible images. This lens has a 23x zoom ratio, and its integrated 2x extender effectively doubles the focal range to 15.2 to 350mm. Image distortions are suppressed even at the ultra-wide 7.6mm focal length, and its high-resolution imaging remains consistent with the periphery of the frame. This lens has been updated with the latest S10 digital servo drive that features enhanced performance and FIZ performance data output for precision position detection in virtual production.

An internal focus design minimizes the effects of lens breathing, and a handheld-style focus/zoom servo is included. The nine-blade rounded iris helps produce natural-looking "bokeh" (out-of-focus highlights). The UA23X7.6BERD-S10 incorporates 16-bit encoders for compatibility with virtual systems, and its QuickZoom feature enables a one-push zoom-in for focus checking.

I wanted this extender to bump my Canon 70-200 ver 2 to 400mm. I have a Canon 100-400 ver 1 but I’m trying to reduce the amount of a equipment I take on a trip while not losing any capabilities. The 70-200 with the 2x extender preformed equal to or better than my older version of the 100-400. I’ll be able to remove 1 big lens from my kit when I need to travel light.

This is a great option. The pros and cons of the extender will need to be evaluated by each photographer. Cons include the loss of light and slower focus speeds. Therefore, this may not be the best choice for a photographer that has need for a 100-400 mm on a frequent basis. However, for infrequent use, the extender provides a great option for use with the 70-200 mm f2.8. The extender cost a lot less and is lighter to carry around than the 100-400 mm for those of us that do not have frequent needs for the larger lens.

To use the extender, the photographer must verify that the extender is compatible with the lens it is paired with, and compensate for the slower focus and loss of light as may be required. After a little practice, image quality is excellent.

A photographer that shoots a lot of fast and constant moving sports such as soccer may need to give close consideration to the focus speed. Sports such as baseball/fastpitch softball are easier to capture with the extender.

The extender works very well for me and what I shoot. I pair the extender with a Canon 70-200 f2.8 and I am very pleased with the images. We are so accustomed to auto focus snapping quickly to our subjects and capturing the moment. Sometimes it might take as much as a second for the lens to find focus using the extender. This of course can feel like an eternity and why it is necessary to practice with the extender and get comfortable with what it can and can't do and how to compensate with camera settings and such.

Really cool extender. Using it with my Canon 100-400 to film nature. At f9, you have a couple of millimeter DOF. It is not a Fujinon ENG glass when it comes to focus pulling but take your time to set your shot. Sometimes you don't have enough time so this glass fast enough for me to find and get the shots I want. I recommend it.

This extender, with its 2 stop loss of light, makes my EF 100-400 f/4.5-5.6 L II an f/9-11. Even my 5DIV will not auto focus with it. My EOS R will. All auto focus points work. With the improved and more consistent auto focus of the EOS R this extender give excellent results when used properly, which I am still working on! Shooting f/11 at 800mm and wanting a high shutter speed can present issues in anything but very good light conditions, but I doubt you can find a better 2x extender for the job.
