A: Like a hotel cart? It will work but why? The advantage of this cart is the ability to haul over grass or pavement and collapse to fit in your car.

Q: 5. How does this handle being checked on a plane? Should extra protection to the wheels be given when checking it in?

A: I've checked it in four times an all the times we taped down the handle bars. Three times it was fine. And the fourth, one of the tabs that holds the handle bar got really bent and I had to use a crowbar to fix it. If it continued at that pace, I would think it would survive about 4 more beatings or a total of 20 trips. But you're really at the mercy of the handlers. If you do travel, I would put fragile stickers on it and wrapping the whole thing in plastic wrap.
