What should it be rotated to ? ie what result is achieved?Also, with the lens hood on it is difficult to rotate the filter but I assume I am to rotate it for the desired affect to be achieved? A: You rotate a circular polarizer to achieve a bluer sky or to cut glare from reflective surfaces. The camera will not automatically adjust for the filter, since this is a totally mechanical action. You should rotate the filter until the effect you are looking for has been achieved.
