The VEO3T+264CPS Travel Tripod with VEO BH-160S Ball Head from Vanguard is a travel-friendly carbon fiber tripod for photographers, videographers, bloggers, and streamers on the go. This all-in-one tripod is sturdy, reliable, and versatile. The easy-to-operate Multi-Angle Central Column (MACC) can be positioned laterally and moved 360° in any direction, making it suitable for any style of photography, moving from macro to landscape in seconds. The MACC can also be used as a multi-mount when paired with the included VEO+ MA1 adapter, allowing additional equipment to be added. The reversible legs allow the VEO3T+264CPS to fold up to a compact 18.9" for transport or storage. In addition, it features a leg that combines with the center column to convert into a 64.37" monopod for situations where a tripod may be too slow or cumbersome to use, like when shooting sports or wildlife.

The included Arca-type VEO PH-38S 3-way pan head has a 4-position rotating camera platform. It delivers additional versatility from any position, and an Arca-type QS-74 quick release plate is included.

Related Questions and Answers

Q: 1. can the ballhead be removed?

A: Yes the ball head can be removed.

Q: 2. Can it handle a 600mm F4 lens?

A: Yes, while the Vanguard VEO 2 can support camera setups up to 17 lb, I would recommend getting a stronger ball head for a better experience.

Q: 3. For the sake of weight and a more solid base would it be advisable to consider removing the long center column and using just the short replacement column? AND what is the height of the tripod fully extended at that height (without the tall center column)?

A: The Vanguard VEO 2 235CB Carbon Fiber Tripod with Ball Head without the center column extended is 49 inches high. If one does not extend the original center column, it would be just as stable as using just a short center column.

Q: 4. Can the legs be locked at other angle besides the stated 23, 50 or 80 degree? Some tripod allows the legs to be locked at any angle between 0 and 90.

A: No. This has set angles.

Q: 5. Is the ball head removable

A: According to Vanguard, yes, the ball head on the Vanguard VEO 2 235CB Carbon Fiber Tripod is removable. You would simply loosen the two (2) hex set screws under the head, lock down the head's adjustment dials so it does not move, and pop the head counterclockwise. The thread size on the male screw on the top of the center column is the standard ¼”-20 thread size. If you are using a tripod head that has the larger 3/8"-16 tripod thread size, you will need a reducer bushing to connect the tripod head to your tripod, such as the Oben 3/8"-16 to 1/4"-20 Reducer Bushing, B&H # OB1039.

Q: 6. What is minimum folded length, and what does it weigh?

A: The, Vanguard VEO3T+264CB Travel Tripod with VEO BH-160S Ball Head & Monopod (Carbon Fiber) folded length is 18.8 inches. And it weighs 5.01 lbs.

Q: 7. 1. can the ball head be replaced with another ball head? or is it fixed to the center column? 2. is the center column removable and can the tripod be used without it?

A: Yes, the BH-50 ballhead can be replaced with another ball head. The top of the center column features a 3/8" male thread, so most tripod "heads" with a 3/8" inner thread will fit . Yes, the center column is removable and the tripod is usable without it.

Q: 8. Is it flip lock or twist lock? Thank you

A: The Vanguard Carbon Fiber Tripod with VEO BH-160S Ball Head has twist leg locks that are easy to clean and which can be removed to clean out sand and other debris.

Q: 9. Folded length 30.5"? Does that mean it is a studio tripod and cannot be carried on the backpad??

A: Although the folded length would not allow this tripod to be carried on a backpack easily, it would still be a suitable option for someone working in or out of the studio.

Q: 10. Is 59" the height of the ball head with the center column fully raised?

A: The maximum height of 56.3" would take into account the fully raised center column.
