Related Questions and Answers

Q: 1. I am having difficulty getting the unit to open in tripod stance. does it swing away from it, or do you pull the two pieces apart? it seems very tight

A: It may be very tight when new. The legs will swng away in opposite directions.

Q: 2. Will this Watson BP-808 charge on a Canon HF-200 or does it require its own charger?

A: I dont have any problem when I charge it directly on my HF-200 E (European model, but I think that the only difference is the video standart : PAL vs NTSC)

Q: 3. what is the length of a single leg from the base?

A: Hi! It is 12 cm

Q: 4. How is the platter seating on the chassis? Is there a bearing wheel or just an axe?

A: There is little info (suggest calling Marantz(401) 658-5766 for more info. on mechanical specs of this TT: Low-Resonance High-Density Acrylic Chassis and Platter A solid plinth belt-drive design (the preferred turntable drive system), the TT-15S1 features a chassis and platter made from dense glass cast PMMA acrylic composite that has inherent vibration and resonance deadening capabilities, which helps the TT-15S1 deliver an astonishing 80 dB signal to noise ratio. Floating Motor Mount Construction Equipped with a reference class anodized aluminum manual tonearm, the TT-15S1 comes with a top-class MM cartridge from Clearaudio and features a precision AC synchronous motor in a massive die-cast housing that thoroughly suppresses motor vibrations, delivering its smooth torque to the thick, heavy platter via a continuous loop (joint-less) silicon belt.

Q: 5. Leg base dimensions?

A: About 15 cm.......it was a good purchase, good quality.

Q: 6. Is the sync terminal cover (to cover bottom plate contacts when battery grip is not connected) compatible with the XH-1?

A: The sync terminal cover in the Fujifilm CVR-XH kit is to cover the flash sync connection on the XH series cameras.

Q: 7. Can the column be unscrewed from the base?

A: Yes to both questions Brian. The center shaft is about 88 mm long with ball attachment and bottom o-ring cushioned stopper removed by easily unscrewing one or both. A very good utility travel tripod for a full size SLR.

Q: 8. Can the TT-200 be converted to the TT-100 ball head configuration?

A: Yes, it can convert down to the TT-100 configuration.

Q: 9. What is the torque on this turntable?

A: A torque specification is not published. The torque is not user adjustable as it might be with a direct-drive DJ turntable.

Q: 10. Are the ball head of Oben TT-50 and Oben TT-100 the same or different? What is the advantage of these difference if they are?

A: The 2 tripods and heads are basically the same. The main difference is that the head of the TT-100 can be removed and another head can be attached. The TT-50 does not have this feature.
