Related Questions and Answers

Q: 1. What is the exposure latitude for Delta 3200?

A: It is less than most other BW films. There is basically no underexposure latitude, any amount and the photos will have no shadow detail. It is more tolerant of overexposure, so err in that direction if you're not sure of exposure. Developer makes a big difference. Kodak Tmax Developer or Ilford DDX are the only ones that really give great results. D-76 is terrible.

Q: 2. Im learning to develop B&W negatives on my own. Since this is a chromogenic film, can this film be developed in the standard B&W developing process or would this require a different process?

A: I would not try to personally develop this film. There are professional labs that still develop it in c-41 chemistry. I only work in 120 film and it is my film of choice if I want to make HUGE enlargements in B&W. It has a wide latitude and is extremely sharp. T. Nell (marina my wife, placed the order)

Q: 3. Is this film 36 exposure?

A: The Vello Wireless ShutterBoss Timer Remote (Sony Alpha Connection) is compatible with the A55, yes. This film is not 36 exposures, no. It is a 100 roll of film that would need to be loaded into empty film cassettes before it could be used. The following would be a 36 exposure ISO 100 roll of Ilford Delta:Ilford Delta-100 Professional 135-36 Black & White Negative (Print) Film (ISO-100) (B&H # ILD10036).

Q: 4. is it 35mm film ?

A: No, this is the 120/medium format version of Ilfordd FP4. You can find the 35mm version here:https://a href= http://www.bhphotovideo.com/c/search?N=10024661&InitialSearch=yes&sts=suggestions-pi&typedValue=ilford+fp target= _blank www.bhphotovideo.com/c/search?N=10024661&InitialSearch=yes&sts=suggestions-pi&typedValue=ilford+fp/a

Q: 5. How translucent is this paper?

A: i would say that it is similar in translucency to Japanese Rice Paper used in a screen or light shade. It is quite thin, If you hold it up to the light, you can see light through it, but you cannot see any thing specific through it. I hope this helps.

Q: 6. Is this paper coated for one side printing or is it double-sided?

A: It is a single-sided paper.

Q: 7. Im ONLY 4 days into my Mamiya 645 1000s path, how do I know what films I can use in my camera,or,are all 120 films useable in the camera?

A: All 120 film could be used in the Mamiya 645.

Q: 8. Is the film on the black or white side?

A: I am not totally clear on your question. The film is a strip of transparent plastic film base coated on one side with a gelatin emulsion containing microscopically small light-sensitive silver halide crystals on the back side.

Q: 9. what developer yields best results for this film? best results in terms of higher contrast, sharper image, infrared accuracy

A: I used Kodak D76

Q: 10. What is the expiration date on the current delta 100 that is for sale?

A: B&H buys and sells film in bulk. In general we regularly maintain fresh film stock. All of our film is at least 6 months from expiration (typically much longer). Anytime film stock is less than 6 months from expiration we sell it in a separate section and label it as short-dated film and also price it with a slight discount (again due to the volumes we sell this rarely occurs). Unfortunately we do not have access to our inventory to hand inspect the expiration date of any of our films prior to purchase.
