The LDY-60 Tripod Head Leveling Base from XILETU makes leveling a tripod head quick and simple. Made from lightweight aluminum alloy, it has a quick release control lever for fast adjustment of up to +/-15°, and it can support up to 11 pounds. The 1/4"-20 threaded tip is compatible with many tripod head bases, and an included 3/8"-16 to 1/4"-20 bushing adapter allows most others to be used as well. Three Allen screws securely lock any attached head in place and prevent accidental unscrewing. The base has a 3/8"-16 threaded female receiver, allowing it to be mounted on virtually any tripod leg set. The LDY-60 make it easy to quickly level a tripod head and camera on uneven terrain.

Related Questions and Answers

Q: 1. Is there a well made leveling base that is smaller? My set up is a Fujifilm X100F, RRS Bh-30, Gitzo series 0 tripod and a Sirui 1205 travel tripod.

A: Levelers with a capacity of 25 lbs are the smallest we have available. Here is an excellent one at a surprisingly affordability price. Acratech Leveling Base, with 3/8 Tripod Thread - Supports 25 lb (11.4 kg) B&H # ACLB.

Q: 2. What's diameter of the top platform (excluding the bubble level)?

A: The diameter is 2 inches without the bubble level!

Q: 3. Is there any difference between this and the Sunwayfoto DYH-66i Leveling Base? They look exactly the same from the picture, same weight and dimensions as well.

A: The differences are the brand names and the prices. And the lever is shaped a little differently.

Q: 4. Can you still see the bubble level when using the Manfrotto MVH500 head?

A: Yes.

Q: 5. What is the magic belt, and how is it used?

A: The XILETU XT-15 Mini Tripod includes a magic belt, which is a Velcro strap that wraps around the tripod for storage.

Q: 6. Mechanical drawings available?

A: No mechanical drawings were included with this item. I am not sure if they are available on-line from the manufacturer. The LE-60 Levelling Base does come with it's own allen key, and will fit most tripods. I found it very useful on a shoot outdoors, with my landscape horizons all level, It is a solid piece of equipment, and worked in well between my manfrotto Video head 128RC and my Manfrotto 55CX3 tripod. For heavier video heads, it may not be up to it, but certainly for what I was using it for, it worked perfectly, quite robust and I did not find it difficult to use, once I was familiarised with it. No complaints.

Q: 7. Where is the bubble level located? Under specs there is 1 bubble level listed?

A: The Bubbly level of the Neewer GM27 Tripod Fluid Head is located just under the position of the Handle on the rear of the head. Image of bubble level on the GM27: https://bit.ly/3NJ9n62

Q: 8. Does it pan 360 too?

A: The Sirui LE-60 does not have a separate panning axis/base, so it can only if you unlocked the leveling head/aspect of it, which might be counter-intuitive during usage.

Q: 9. I would like to use it as a lightweight ball head for landscape. Is it possible to put an arca-swiss base mount (like this one ?

A: Yes an arca clamp like this one Sunwayfoto Arca & Manfrotto Compatible Clamp is compatible with the Kirk Mini Tripod Leveling Base https://www.bhphotovideo.com/c/product/1026970-REG/sunwayfoto_mac_14_arca_manfrotto_compatible.html

Q: 10. Will there be a parallax issue or an problem finding the nodal point using a 100-400mm lens?

A: The Acratech Panoramic Head with Leveling Base Kit could create parallax issues depending if there is an object close to the camera when you are stitching the image to a panorama. You may want to buy a nodal rail that would allow you to place the camera further back, with the center of the lens over the tripod's center. In that case there won't be any parallax.
