A: I use one of these. Thread size does not matter. The threads allow you to add the tubes together to increase the length of the extension tube. It is best to use a prime lens. For good results you will need to use a tripod and will need a good light source. The depth of field will be very narrow, so you may want to use aperture mode and select a small aperture (i.e. high number).

Q: 6. Are these actually for the Flowtech 75? I haven't seen this locking design except on the version for the Flowtech 100. Researching the Manufacturer ID number also doesn't bring up anything conclusive and I can't find this product on the Vinten website.

A: Extension tubes go between the camera body and the lens, and have the same mounts as the lens and camera body do. Your 52mm reference to your D100 indicates the front filter thread size of whateve particular lens you have - these tubes do not connect or iterface with the front of your lens. You would remove the lens, apply the extension tubes in its place, and then reapply the lens onto the exentions tubes. The tubes literally extend the distance between the camera's sensor plane and the rear element of glass in the lens which will result in decreased minimum focus distance and gained magnification.

Q: 10. What s the size of the inside threads of the extension tubes? I would like to attach these to a 52mm filter thread between the lens and a slide copy adapter.

A: Extension tubes are meant to go between the camera body and the lens. They are not intended to be used between the lens and slide adapter.
