The black, redesigned MT190XPRO3 Aluminum Tripod from Manfrotto builds on the success and popularity of the previous 190 series with professional hardware and convenience features that make it even easier to use than its predecessor.

Set up is faster than ever with Manfrotto's Quick Power Lock System that allows you to completely extend the tripod legs with just one hand. Once set up you can use the MT190XPRO3's rapid center column in standard vertical mode or swing it into horizontal position like a boom with Manfrotto's 90° Column feature. Enlarged tabs on the individual leg angle selectors allow you to get down to only 3.5" for macro work with the column in horizontal mode. And once you're down there you can attach any of Manfrotto's flexible or articulated arms to hold lights or reflectors via the Easy Link plug built into the tripod's spider.

Convenience features include grippy, rubber leg warmers on two legs for cold or inclement weather and a bubble level that rotates so that you can see it easily regardless of the tripod's position. Finally, Manfrotto's insistence on form following function has yielded a tripod that you'll not only be happy to use but you'll be happy to be seen with, too.

The Quick Power Lock (QPL) system is one of the most eye-catching and unique features of the redesigned 190. It is a strong, ultra fast, ergonomic locking system that allows for complete extension of the legs with one hand.

One of the most innovative aspects of the 190 series is its compactness, which allows for easier portability. The redesigned patented 90° Column is accessible whenever you need it with simple one finger operation.

The plug allows instant connection between tripod and accessories, such as LED lights for macro photography and DSLR video applications using Manfrotto articulated arms and brackets.

The bubble is easy to read, whatever the shape of the head or however the tripod is positioned. Just rotate it towards you for easy viewing.

Each leg has user selection of four angles to accommodate uneven ground or rough terrain. The selectors are manufactured according to most innovative ergonomic standards to prevent fingers and nails being trapped in the upper casting.

The entire shape of the tripod has been modified and made more manageable and stylish. The complete redesign of its functional elements shows a particular attention to aesthetics and details: the brand name, for example, appears in many sections of the new 190, including the two legwarmers made of comfortable rubber to provide a secure grip and prevent the conduction of heat and cold in extreme weather conditions.

Related Questions and Answers

Q: 1. Could you attach a Edelkrone slider to this while shooting a 90degree shot? Or a slider of similar proportions/weight?

A: With the right ball head, you can attach any mid-size slider to this tripod and shoot vertically. The tripod can handle over 15 pounds of weight. However, it's always recommended to add some weight to the tripod so that it doesn't tip over, and unfortunately this tripod does not have a hook under the middle column to connect a sandbag or camera bag. But if you can be creative and figure out a way to add more weight to the tripod, that would be the best way to go about it.

Q: 2. Could I remove the center column and replace it with a Manfrotto Leveling Center Column with 50mm Leveling Ball?

A: The Manfrotto MT190X3 Aluminum Tripod does not work with the Manfrotto Leveling Center Column.

Q: 3. does it tilt?

A: Yes, the center column does tilt. Loosen the locking key and pull the column all the way up. The column will then be able to tilt when you push it towards an opening in the collar. When you find one of the preset tilt positions you like, you can lock it down with the locking key. I don't think there are infinite tilt angles but there are several of which you can choose.

Q: 4. what is the difference between this and Manfrotto MT055XPRO3-3W Aluminum Tripod with 3-Way Pan/Tilt Head? (other than there load capacity?)

A: Hi--the load capacity, the maximum height, the minimum height, the weight, and the folded length are different for the two tripods you are asking about.

Q: 5. I have a nikon d3400 with a few different types of lenses. I wanted to take this camera and pick up this tripod for an overseas vacation. Is this tripod a good purchase or should i go with a different one?

A: My experience over about 6 months of use in 2016 is great. I use it with my Sony Alpha 7II with both 50mm and 24 to 240mm OSS zoom lenses. Very sturdy, retractable handles make for compact transport and storage. Very high quality build also means a bit heavier than lesser tripods. I'd buy it again. Worth ever penny.

Q: 6. What is the diameter of the mounting plate for the head?

A: It has a diameter of 2.36 inches.

Q: 7. What is the difference in leg diameters of the 190 and the 055?

A: This tripod has 3 segment legs. The 1st segment on top has a 22mm, the middle segment has 18mm and the lower segment is 13mm diameter.

Q: 8. which sturdy ,aluminum manfrotto tripod and a good quality head, would you use on a pentax 80ed spotting scope that will be used on full magnification thank you

A: For a sturdy, aluminum Manfrotto tripod with a head included, check out the 190XPROB tripod with MVH500AH fluid head: http://bhpho.to/1g9VOUs

Q: 9. Are the rubber feet on this tripod replaceable with other feet? For example - Spikes?

A: No, the Manfrotto MT190XPRO3 does not take spiked feet.

Q: 10. EL CABEZAL 322RC2 , ESTA BIEN PARA UNA NIKON D500 CON UN LENTE 200-500 ?

A: I have used the same tripod with a Canon 7D Mark II and a 100 - 400 lens. It works great with the weight of a large lens.

Wow the quality of the Manfrotto Tripod. I own an older Bogen Tripod but the Manfrotto MT 190XPRO4 is outstanding for material and craftsmanship. I would say I would buy again, but this one is not going to wear out.

I recently purchased the Manfrotto MT190XPRO4 tripod, and it is living up to my professional expectations. It is compact, rugged and perfect for both video and still shooting especially in tight and unusual situations. I use it with my Manfrotto Nitrotech fluid head and Manfrotto leveling ball on which I mount my Sony A7Sii, Tilda cage and Shogun package. One of the delightful features is the 90 degree column; it finds many uses! I recommend this tripod highly!

I love the limited footprint of the head and the ability to dial in the levels. Great for real estate and landscape where verticals mean everything. Manfrotto has done it again.

This tripod is very stable and can be arranged in various ways to suit different situations. The size is perfect for a 22-inch carry-on suitcase. That's important for me as I travel a lot for my work.
You can add to your purchase a suitable head for the work you need to focus on.

You can't go wrong with these tripods. They are some of the most versatile, sturdy, and fairly compact tripods around. I got this mainly for photos and smaller DSLR video. If you need something for a larger rig Manfrotto's heavier tripods work great for those. These are more expensive that other tripods but a good tripod can last a long time and not get outdated so it is worth getting the better ones.
