Related Questions and Answers

Q: 1. What adaptor will I need to make this fit on a LUMIX S1H?

A: You can use the Leica M-Adapter L (Silver), B&H # LEMATS for the S1H. https://bhpho.to/2Tr9yqX

Q: 2. Is this the same lens that was sold under the brand name Handevision?

A: Handevision and Kipon have a close relationship so yes this is the same lens maybe with some tweaks.

Q: 3. will it work with the Z9?

A: KIPON Ibelux 40mm f/0.85 Mark III Lens (Nikon Z) will work with the Nikon Z9 but it is a APSC lens. It will crop the full frame sensor of the Z9. Less than half of the available megapixels will be used.

Q: 4. is there any other option for full frame E-Mount as fast as this one?

A: There is not at the moment. This lens is also not a full frame lens. It's an APS-C Sony lens. This here would be the fastest FE lens for Sony cameras. https://www.bhphotovideo.com/c/product/1475646-REG/mitakon_zhongyi_mtk50f095m3fe_speedmaster_50mm_f_0_95_iii.html

Q: 5. Most Leica brand M-mount lenses at best have a minimum focus distance (MFD) of 0.7m. This Nokton's MFD is 0.5m. With a digital M body is the rangefinder coupled to support focusing through the optical viewfinder at focus distances between 0.5m and 0.7m?

A: According to our Voigtlander contact, they state on most Leica M-mount cameras, you will need to use the LCD screen to obtain absolute closest focus. While a few cameras such as the Leica MP may allow you to focus a bit closer due to its redesigned finder, it is still recommended to use the LCD screen for the most accurate focus when focusing at the lens' minimum focus distance.

Q: 6. This lens is compatible whit the s1h panasonic

A: Yes, it'll be able to mount but do keep in mind that it is APS-C format and not full-frame so it'll be in Super 35 format for video.

Q: 7. Is there a setting I need to change on my camera for this lens to work? I just got it in the mail and the shutter won't click. I have the camera in Manual.

A: Yes, you need to change a setting. In the menu, in the custom function section ( it's an icon of a camera with little hash marks under it ) navigate to C.Fn III-7 Release Shutter Without Lens. The options are 0 disable 1 enable. Switch to enable. This information is on page 544 of the manual: http://gdlp01.c-wss.com/gds/3/0300033693/01/eosrp-ug-en.pdf

Q: 8. Will this maintain the flange distance for RX C Mount lenses?

A: When using the Kipon C-Mount Lens to Canon RF-Mount adapter, lenses with a proper back focus control are recommended for achieving proper focusing. Some older lenses may be incompatible as their back element may protrude too close to the sensor.

Q: 9. KIPON Ibelux 40mm f/0.85 Lens. I would like to know whether this lens can mount on Sony Alpha 7 SII?

A: For A7SII you would need B&H # KI40F85SNMK2 which is the Sony E-Mount Version of this lens. However this lens covers an APS-C Sensor only, the A7SII need to be in a cropped mode to work with the lens. https://bhpho.to/3209JvA

Q: 10. Does this adapter allow c-mount lenses to have infinity focus with the Canon EOS-R?

A: All this adapter is doing is making up the flange distance to allow a C-Mount lens to be mounted on an RF-Mount camera. So if the lens you have is a manual focusing lens, you should have the ability to have infinite focus.

Perfect alternative for 35mm / 50mm when you can't decide which to take with you. Usually shoot 24 / 35 / 75 or 28 / 50 / 90, but when birding with longer focal lengths, this 40/1.2 VM (+M10) is a great complementary option. 40/1.4 MC VM was nice (classic wide-open, modern stopped down). This 40/1.2 is more modern throughout its aperture range: sharp even wide open, with excellent colors and blur.
