A: It is a give that extreme wide angle lenses for APS-C or full frame will have bulbous front elements that will preclude any screw on filter application. That is true here. At this time the solution we know of is the Laowa 100mm filter holder system which accepts 100mm square or 95mm circular Polarizer filters. A: You need the EF to Sony E converter to use the lense .. you can use the lense without the magic shift converter..

If you set the camera to apsc crop mode the image will fill the whole frame but less than half of the available megapixels will be used.
