Related Questions and Answers

Q: 1. What are the weight and dimensions of the glyph blackbox pro external hard drive?

A: I don't have the 8TB. I do have the 3TB. The specs are probably about the same. 8.2 X 5.1 X 1.7 I don't know how much it weighs but it was much heavier than I expected, maybe a couple of pounds. I was surprised when I lifted it. That's good because it will stay put when you're using it with a laptop. Happy shopping.

Q: 2. Will this work with Android? Specifically Samsung Galaxy 21 and Tab8+

A: The Kingston 4TB XS2000 USB 3.2 Gen 2x2 External Solid State Drive (B&H # KISXS20004KG) can be used for storage when attached to Android devices with a USB-C port.

Q: 3. Which Mac format is it preformatted in?

A: The Glyph Technologies 40TB Blackbox PRO RAID Desktop Drive (2 x 20TB, Thunderbolt 3), B&H # GLBBPR40RDT3, is pre-formatted in the HFS+ macOS extended journaled format.

Q: 4. Does it come with a type-c to type-c USB 3.1 cable?

A: Yes it does!

Q: 5. Can I use this drive with a USB C iPhone 15 Pro Max for photo storage?

A: While the Glyph Technologies 2TB Blackbox PRO 7200 rpm USB-C 3.1 Gen 2 External Hard Drive does have a USB-C cable to connect to the iPhone 15 Pro Max, I would use an external SSD instead to take advantage of faster transfer speeds. A great option would be (B&H #SAE612TB) as it is faster and pocket sized, making it easier to travel with.

Q: 6. Wondering if I can use this as a backup for my HP laptop. I have a Toshiba drive that will not do a whole Disc backup even though there is enough space on the Toshiba to do it. Will this work?

A: The Kingston 2TB XS2000 USB 3.2 Gen 2x2 External Solid State Drive can be used to backup most drives. But if you are backing up the complete drive, the Kingston drive needs to be large enough. And you need the correct software to back up all that is on the laptop.

Q: 7. Will this drive work with Mountain Lion OS 10.8.5?

A: If you have a USB-C port, you can format this drive as needed for your OS.

Q: 8. What does it mean that this is bus-powered

A: It means you don't need an external power supply. It's powered by the USB cable.

Q: 9. Is this compatible with Windows 7?

A: Agreed

Q: 10. how does this differ from a glyph 1tb studio mini mobile hard drive?

A: The Black Box model has only a USB 3.0/2.0 interface and spins @ 5400 rpm. The Studio Mini has, USB 3.0, Firewire 800 and eSATA interfaces and spins along @ 7200 rpm. So the Studio mini is the better choice for medium-to-heavy video editing and the Black Box is better suited for general storage. That said, I have edited hi-res footage (Avid DNxHD145) with the Black Box and had no issues whatsoever. But I might have just gotten lucky, too.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] The Kingston XS2000 portable SSD is outstanding, it is exactly what I was looking for. It is compact and it's speed is unbelievably fast. I have the 500GB that has speeds of up to 2000 MBps and i love that it is small and the rubber sleeve protects it against water and dust, it is shockproof and has a five year warranty.

This is a fantastic, TINY, 4TB external drive that was available at an amazing price. Nice to have so much space on such a small drive for storing photos.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I got the XS2000 500gb model to back up files between a couple personal computers. The transfer speed is great and made moving files a breeze.
The small size made it easy to fit in my pocket as one was upstairs and one was downstairs, saved a lot of space on the desk.

Definitely get htis if you need small size, but fast storage.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I am very happy with the external ssd both for portable storage and as a backup device. I typically keep it connected to my desktop for automatic backups. Its small size means it takes up very little space on my desk. When I need to bring files with me, I put on the rubber protective cover (the inclusion of which is a very nice touch) and put it in my laptop bag. It is so much smaller and lighter than my old external hard drive that it is much more convenient for traveling. In fact, it is small enough that I could even keep it in my pocket. File transfers are quick when attached to the USB 3.0 ports on my computer (although it also supports USB 3.2).

i purchased this for it's speed and so far it lives up to its reputation. but I've only been using it for a week or so which means the jury is still out interns of durability.

Purchased to transfer folders from the desktop of a dying computer to a new unit. The downloads to it via USB 3 are slow, but loading to the new computer via a cable plug I've never seen before is really fast. Up to an hour to download from the old computer, less than 5 minutes to transfer to the new computer. WAY faster than any other external storage or transfer device I've used.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I love having an external storage device. Both for work and for personal. Especially as a back-up for pictures. I have used Kingston thumb drives for years. They have always been my go to for the most reliable. When I say the Kingston XS2000 I was ecstatic. It is great for work documents and for my photos it is perfect.
