Related Questions and Answers

Q: 1. is injector and adapter one in the same?

A: Depending on the manufacturer YES

Q: 2. Is the picture on the 50v 60w old? It doesn't look like the picture on the Ubiquiti website.

A: The Ubiquiti Networks 50V PoE Adapter with Gigabit LAN Port BH #UBPOE5060W • MFR #POE-50-60W is the most current version. It is possible that we are using a different image of this device.

Q: 3. Can this safely power a 12V IP camera?

A: I would be hesitant to recommend Ubiquiti injectors for products other than Ubiquiti.

Q: 4. Will this work well for 300 ft run?

A: No, the Ubiquiti Networks 48V PoE Adapter with Gigabit LAN Port would not support power over a 300ft cable run. We suggest POE extenders when powering over a long cable distance. POE Extender - B&H # VEVORORM or B&H # VEVORORMXT

Q: 5. If a 10Gbit Ethernet port is connected the to input of this device will the POE port be limited to 1Gbit or is 2.5Gbit possible?

A: Yes, If you used the Ubiquiti Networks 50V PoE Adapter with Gigabit LAN Port on a 10Gbit network the speeds would drop to gigabit speeds.

Q: 6. Will this work to provide extra power to the Ubiquiti Switch Flex?

A: The Ubiquiti Networks 50V PoE Adapter with Gigabit LAN Port BH #UBPOE5060W will power a Ubiquiti Switch Flex.

Q: 7. Would this be able to power multiple media players using a USB A to type M barrel connector? Looking replace multiple wall wart power for 5V 2A devices.

A: Yes, that would be fine for this application. Each port has an allowance of 2.4A.

Q: 8. Is this product backwards compatible with IEEE 802.3af devices?

A: The Ubiquiti Networks 50V PoE Adapter with Gigabit LAN Port BH #UBPOE5060W is backward compatible with 802.3af devices.

Q: 9. Will this work with a Panasonic AW-HE40SW HD PTZ Camera?

A: Yes it would, but look at the power standards not necessarily voltage. Regular PoE is the 802.3af standard, and PoE+ (plus) is the 802.3at standard. The main difference between the 802.3af (PoE) and 802.3at (PoE+) standards is the maximum amount of power they provide over Cat5 cabling. The maximum amount of power for the 802.3af (PoE) standard is 15.4 watts. The maximum for the 802.3at (PoE+) standard is 25.5 watts. Ubiquity mixes PoE equipment standards with 12V, 24V, 48V and 50V PoE adapters but most PoE equipment is 48V PoE or PoE+. Usually you only need higher voltages to reach longer distance's. Sometimes it is hard to get PoE+ to reliably work over 100M or 300ft, so you would need a PoE injector with slightly higher voltage to deliver 25W at 300 plus feet. For the record, the Panasonic camera does not need GB speed which uses all 8 conductors. 100mb over 2 pairs CAT5 or CAT5E (using only 4 of 8 conductors) will work fine. I'd stick with a 100mb PoE+ injector.

Q: 10. Is this compliant with 802.3bt PoE?

A: Yes, the Ubiquiti Networks 50V PoE Adapter with Gigabit LAN Port is compliant with 802.3bt POE.

Four ports are POE and power cameras, WAPs and even the Cloud Key Gen 2. Price can't be beat. Integrates fully into the Ubiquiti managed network.

As simple as plug and play. Worked without any issues

It's just a simple network switch, I'm sure it's as good as anything else out there but if you are running a full ubiquity network it communicates with the host computer and the security gateway seamlessly.

This is the first managed switch I have owned and I am impressed with how functional it is; don't know why I didn't do this before! The switch is built like a tank and its small footprint makes locating it a breeze.

Mounted the switch and powered it up. Synced with Cloud key with no issues. Configuration software was easy to navigate and we love the ability to see everything from the app or computer interface.
Great to stay in the Ubiquity Family for easy management. Used this switch for a small office with only one network drop. Added additional points of access for that office.

As a managed switch, it has all the functions that you would expect, but as part of the Unifi family, it is easily adopted and integrated into their management scheme. It runs hot, even with a minimal POE load, so it must be mounted with air space on all sides, including the bottom.

I install quite a few of these switches in the past year and haven't had a single failure. This 8 Port switch comes with 4 port POE af auto-sensing and it can be turned off if needed.

Dumped tplink Poe switches for these. My IP cameras now stay connected. I can control each port if I need to restart the cams without digging into my rack. Great UniFi integration.

I recently started installing only Ubiquiti and couldn't be happier with the ease of installation and reliability

We have an all Ubiquiti network, so adding this switch was plug and play. Just adopt the new device and we were up and running.
