Related Questions and Answers

Q: 1. What's the range? How far does it broadcast?

A: The Ubiquiti Networks UniFi U6 Enterprise Wi-Fi 6E Tri-Band Access Point will cover a 1,500 ft² area so assuming there are no obstructions in the way of the signal.

Q: 2. We installed one unit in the guest bedroom and the neon glows a bit much, can we cover the unit with material to dim the glow?

A: Hi! Rather than physically covering the unit, you may want to consider simply disabling the built in LED. To do this (using the desktop UniFi controller software): Login to the UniFi controller -- Select Settings (Gear icon) --Select Site -- Uncheck the option to enable the status LED -- Select Apply Changes. Please note that this applies to all of the access points you manage (unless you have set-up multiple sites); if you have more than one access point, all of their LEDs will be disabled. If you are using the mobile application to manage your device(s), the ability to disable the LED is coming in a future update. As for physically covering the unit, I suppose you could do so with minimal effects (depending on the material), but I would strongly suggest disabling the LED over covering the unit. The last thing you want is to adversely affect the signal emitted from the device.

Q: 3. Is this meant for an office environment or is it also safe for home use? Also, I have an office separate from my house. I'm assuming I'd need to get a long PoE cable into the house to plug into here. How long can that cable be, and what type do I need to get?

A: All of Ubiquiti's Unifi products can be used in either a home or office/business setting. As for getting Wi-Fi in your office, wired or wireless solutions are available. The Ubiquiti Networks UAP-AC-PRO UniFi Access Point Enterprise Wi-Fi System comes included with a power adapter that will supply the unit with PoE via a wall adapter. You do not need to run a long cable to this unit from your PoE router/switch.

Q: 4. The BH listing shows this includes 5 Pieces but I only see three pieces. What am I missing?

A: Included in the box are 5 access points.

Q: 5. Will you supply an Australian power supply cord with this?

A: No. This is a (US) model. There are international UAPs. Also, please note that since this is 802.11af POE compliant, any decent POE switch can power it.

Q: 6. Can I use the PoE adapter in Australia with our 250V?

A: Yep! The adapter supports all worldwide AC power standards (Australia is actually 230V, by the way) - you'll need a cable with an Australian plug on it, it's a cloverleaf cable like many laptop bricks use, also called IEC C5, officeworks and others (jaycar) sell them.

Q: 7. Does this AP have a WebUI or does it need a Wireless controller to be managed?

A: Ubiquiti Networks UniFi U6 Enterprise Wi-Fi 6E Tri-Band Access Point requires a UniFi Network Application to be installed on a server or computer locally in order to facilitate online management of the device.

Q: 8. can i use the us version internationally in the UK?

A: I would bet yes, in the UniFi controller software I can choose where my site is. And that should limit and control what channels it will use. Other than that be mindful of what channels are legal and be sure to only use those channels.

Q: 9. Will this work with Verizon fios router or will i need a POE injector? Any other surprises i may run into?

A: You will need to use the PoE injector. Routers don't have PoE ports in general. The PoE injector is included.

Q: 10. Can I use a PoE Injector to power this AP?

A: Yes, the Ubiquiti Networks UniFi U6 Enterprise Wi-Fi 6E Tri-Band Access Point can be powered via PoE injector. The Ubiquiti Networks U-POE-AT PoE+ Adapter (BH #UBUPOEAT • MFR #U-POE-AT) is the recommended injector to use as a power supply for the U6 Enterprise AP.

I'm not much for buying extended warranties except for high price equipment that can be prohibitively expensive to repair once they're out of warranty. My Mac computers fall into that category but, just as important, after 90 days tech support by phone stops unless you have Applecare. Apple's phone tech support has been excellent and I wouldn't want to be without them when needed. I've also had my Macbook fixed....while I waited....at my local Apple store with the cost being covered by Applecare. That's when you realize how essential this repair insurance is.

Bought this for my 13' MacBook Pro (2010 Model) and registration was a breeze!... B&H had the best price I've seen for this product. Bought it for about $190 (sealed, new) whereas Apple has it for $250....All in all, I'd buy from B&H. This was my first purchase from them and it definitely won't be my last. I'm telling all my friends and family about B&H!

iMac #2, the only reason I bought the Applecare was to Cover my ... Apple's are not cheap, and worse if they break down. Apple care is cheap compared to the over all cost of the machine. Definitely worth the expense.
