Q: 1. How is the noise cancelation? I plan on using to record videos on my Pc, and I have a loud keyboard.
A: EnterIt is difficult for me to give you a precise opinion for each one of us has slightly different hearing. However I'll give you my best opinion. First of all I bought the Senal UB-440 Mic. for video narration. Before I was using an analog Mic. and the sound was quite pleasant very reach. With the UB-440 Mic the sound is very crispy sheering type, even in post production I could not completely remove the crispness, I just don't know why??? One can hear that electronically metallic sound to which I'm not use to. Although the sound is clear an noise free, if you don' hold it in your hand, otherwise you mite here the rubbing of your hand, so put under a rubber matt like the one that is used for a PC mouse. Again you might experience different finding especially if you are a young man. Hopping this will help you. an answer to this question.
Q: 2. Is there international warranty for the MV7?
A: Yes, the Shure MV7 Podcast Microphone has a two-year limited warranty from Shure.
Q: 3. For pro podcasts and webinars in a slightly treated room, how would this compare to the RE20 or MKH416 running through a MixPre 3 II as the interface?
A: The Earthworks ETHOS B Broadcast Condenser Microphone is similar to the Sennheiser MKH 416 Shotgun Microphone in its capsule type and directionality, both being directional condensers. The ETHOS B has off-axis rejection for reducing room noise but is likely more forgiving than the MKH 416 in terms of capturing voice when the head turns. The 416 would require discipline from the user in the sense that they would need to be speaking directly at the microphone for the best pickup. The 416 would also be more optimal at a distance, making staying on-axis a bit more difficult. The Electro-Voice RE20 is a less sensitive, dynamic end address microphone more commonly used in these scenarios. It has a wider, more standard cardioid pickup pattern than the ETHOS B. The ETHOS B is more sensitive than the RE20, but makes up for potential room noise issues with its tight pickup pattern. The ETHOS B also has the widest frequency response of the three microphones.
Q: 4. Will the Senal UB-440 fit a Samson SP01 spider shock mount?
A: Yes, we use the UB-440 with the SP01 shock mount, and have not encountered any problems with fit or stability. If you use the mini-stand that comes with the microphone, be careful to position the mount over the base. Otherwise, the mic may tip. When touched.
Q: 5. why is the silver version cheaper than the black one?
A: B&H priced it that way, but silver and black are the same microphones just a different color. Black is more popular thats why price is a little higher. Hope this helps.
Q: 6. Want to use this with an XLR connected to a Zoom H5. Does the mic draw power from the Zoom?
A: The Shure MV7 Podcast Microphone is a dynamic microphone, so it does not require phantom power when connected via XLR.
Q: 7. How large is the capsule in the MV7, possible to get some specs?
A: Shure has not provided specs for the capsule used inside the Shure MV7 Podcast Microphone.
Q: 8. What size is the condenser?
A: The Senal UB-440 features a diaphragm that is 19mm (.75 ) in diameter.
Q: 9. I need to have a 3.5 mm connection (to a camera). What cable/adapter do I need?
A: While it is possible to connect this mic to the 3.5mm input on a camera with this cable, BH #KOXRSM06B, the preamp of the camera would not do a great job of amplifying the signal and could introduction unwanted noise into the recording. We would recommend using a mixer/ recorder in between the mic and camera to give you a stronger mic preamp for a cleaner signal into the camera. Here's a recommendation, BH# TADR60DMKIIK.
Q: 10. Does the microphone come with a stand?
A: The Audio-Technica AT2040 microphone does not ship with a stand, that will be an additional accessory that can be ordered separately from our site.
