A: I've washed it and it didn't do anything weird. The velour material makes it really easy to setup without having to steam or iron it. Sometimes I will add some wrinkle spray to help it or pull the sides with some clips to make it seamless. We use two of these side by side to get a wider space and we haven't had any problems with keying. Smaller spaces I would use some magenta gel on the backlight.

A: yes. this mic is designed to give to the left speaker what is left of frame and the same with the right. something or someone that is interested b the middle (in front of the camera) will get an extra boost as well as separation from off camera sounds.if you orient the mic as ou mentioned, you'll get sound bouncing off the ground in one speaker and sound from the sky above in the other which will make for a weird stereo image that at the same time adds noise to the dialog that would otherwise not be there.better to use a mono shotgun style mic or find a way to flip this one right side up.
